Pros: Beaucoup de charme et emplacement idéal pour un premier séjour.
Cons: Climatisation très bruyante
Location: A 200 mètres de Time Square et de restaurants d'un très bon rapport qualité-prix.

Nice accommodations in the heart of Times Square

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, friendliness of staff
Location: There are 2 exceptional dining options next door (Dunhill Cafe and Cranberry Cafe) we frequented both on multiple occasions for breakfast and snacks.
We spent 6 wonderful nights at Hotel St. James last week for vacation. The hotel facilities are clean, the staff friendly and accommodating and the location is exceptional. I am in the Hospitality industry and you will have all of your basic needs met here. While it is true that the facilities are basic in nature, I found the hotel to be exceptional for our needs. We were in NYC to enjoy the city and all that it has to offer, not stay in our room. The beds were comfortable and clean. The service from our housekeeper was exceptional. We felt safe and there was a bit of an "era gone by" charm to the hotel. We arrived at around 11am and were given a prompt check-in since our room was ready (major plus) and were able to secure our luggage on lockers at checkout since we had an evening flight.

Met and exceeded expectations

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, service.
Cons: Less cutting of corners and free baggage storing.
Location: Typical New York tourist stuff. The deli next door is quite good. If you don't want to pay Times Square prices for food, head into Hell's Kitchen.
The location for this hotel is ideal - Times Square, Empire State, Rockefeller Plaza and Central Park all within walking distance and both metro stops had lines running to all areas of NYC. Some repair work happening outside and inside the building but it did not inconvenience us at any point. Rooms were cleaned daily and to a high standard. The staff were excellent, especially those on the front desk who were always greeting us warmly upon seeing us and helped us with public transport. The free wifi was strong all over the hotel - there will always be a couple of people mooching this on the hotel stairs as you leave. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus to the three airports, this worked out about 10 bucks cheaper than a cab but bear in mind it is a fair bit longer as they make stops at some other hotels too. There are no onsite facilities for food or hot drinks but there are endless places nearby for this (Delis, restaurants, two 24hr McDonald's if you are so inclined...). The only downside was that we had to pay to store out luggage there before we went to the airport after checking out, which seemed slightly distasteful since we had spent such a long amount of time there.

Good value

Nice sized room and bed. Clean bathroom. No drink making facilities though. Air conditioning unit meant the window had to be open so quite noisy at night. Lovely cafe next door. Clean towels provided although some were stained. Sparse wall sockets

Al centro di Manhattan

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Io ci tornerei.

Great location!

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The location and price.
Cons: Clock in room, for sure.
Location: Times Squares and great theaters.
Strictly a bare-bones hotel. Old, not renovated, but great location, clean rooms, good towels, and friendly desk staff. If you just need a clean room and don't care about any amenities, then this will work for you. If you need a fancy hotel, keep looking. I would go back because it had what I needed--cleanliness, but nothing fancy, not even a clock in the room. Very reasonable price if you book early and around the corner from Times Square and all the top theaters.

Nice hotel, close to Time Square

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Close to so much
Cons: It would be nice to have a coffee maker and fridge in the room.
Location: Close to Time Square/restaurants/subway/Rockefeller Center.
Though it was a small room with no amenities (no coffee maker or fridge) it was clean and close to everything. I would, I will stay there next time I go to New York.

Great Hotel!

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Its location is the best thing. Practically, it is in Times Square! It is 1 minute walk from 3 or 4 subway stations. It is in the middle of Manhattan so you can walk to most of the attractions! Its internet connection is terrible though for streaming Netflix.

Hotel saint James : excellent

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Le personnel Le quartier La proximité de presque tous les métro Le calme La propreté
Cons: Un mini frigo ne serait pas de refus Un pommeau de douche réglable en hauteur Limiter le bruit de l'eau qui coule sur la clim extérieure
Location: Times Square : que dire d'autre Broadway, les theatres, m&m's world, Toys r us, ...
Hotel sur Times square super bien situé. Chambre donnant sur cours intérieure : La nuit les fenêtres ouvertes : on entendait rien !! Personnel super accueillant et arrangeant. Propreté : RAS.
