Room too small, not clean, good location

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The staff at the front desk is very nice.
Cons: The cleaning of the room and the quality of the towels
Location: it is a good location, close to everything, but I rather stay on the upper east side, as we usually do.
The room was too small and the AC did not work properly for the first two nights, then it was fixed and worked fine. The room was not clean and the quality of the towels is terrible, they are small and thin.

When I first went to my room I saw that it was not serviced, yet. I went back to the front desk and they took care of it. The rest of my stay was great. Great location, fun restaurant and excellent staff! The shower was fantastic evening, too!

Great staff, great location, great hotel

Posted Aug 11, 2015
If you need/want to stay near Union Square this is the hotel to use. The staff were all extremely attentive and very polite. The room was spotless and a decent size for New York. Lots of great cafes, bars, shops nearby.

Right off Union Square

Posted Aug 9, 2015
A one minute walk from the 14th Street subway, two minutes to the farmers' market in Union Square, this Hyatt was a lovely surprise. We were there to attend a conference at the New School( an easy walk), but we're delightfully surprised by the warm welcome of each hotel staff member. There was none of the typical NYC attitude we sometimes encounter in the city. This felt like a small boutique hotel, rather than a chain. Room was silent! Never tried the restaurants on site, but three were available. Many good choices close by. The marvelous Strand Bookstore is around the corner.

Good, well-located hotel

Posted Jul 4, 2015
The room was light, airy, well-designed, and less miniscule than the usual New York hotel. Good shopping and dining nearby.
