Hotel was very close to Central Park and to subway

Posted Jan 9, 2017
The room was very tiny. I suggest they don't put a full size desk in a minuscule room as it takes up half the space and makes it very difficult to have any walking room. If the drawer was open, the bathroom door would bang into it. I also suggest the sink not be full size as it takes up half the bathroom space. I am not a big person and managed to bang my elbows on the bathroom wall many times. The dining room staff were not accommodating and unfriendly. The receptionists were also very unhelpful and unfriendly with the exception of maybe two staff members.

Cozy, convenient hotel on West Side

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: Location, comfort, cleanliness
Cons: Speed of the elevator - was very slow getting up and down in the morning when everyone is heading to breakfast.
Location: Restaurants, theater, central park, great delis and coffee shops, and close to Lincoln Center.
This hotel provided a great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and a reasonable breakfast for a very good rate considering it is in NYC. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone attending an event at Lincoln Center or anywhere else in the area. It is also convenient to the subway and bus lines to the rest of the city.

Front desk employee at check in wasn't very friendly or welcoming. Seemed like he was being bothered by our presence. Everything else was great. Nice convenient spot to stay.

They've got what you need for a trip to NY

Posted Dec 21, 2016
Spent 4 days in December here and had no problems with it. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean but small, which worked for us because we only needed a place to sleep at night. The hotel staff probably could've been friendlier- they weren't rude they just didn't have much in terms of personality. The hotel is also about a 1/2 block from Central Park and a subway stop, so it's a really convenient location. Definitely recommend

great local

Posted Dec 20, 2016
Pros: not a tourist trap....easy for transportation.....parking discount around corner...parking not that cheap...but cheap enough for NYC....good room
Cons: bigger rooms....but landmark building can't change.....better breakfast selection maybe?
Location: Central Park...Strawberry Fields...Dakota...subway 1 block either way...15 mins from mid-town....Museum of Natural History and Lincoln in waling dist.
great local....will say the rooms are small....but is landmark building.....next to Central Park.....subway 1 block either way.. not touristy....easy to get to mid-town....went to see NYC Christmas....fit the bill...don't go thinking anything special....small but adequate....breakfast is bonus....but don't think your getting fancy meal...its enough to get you started .....if your doing an overnight or weekend on the town....its worth it...just be warned its small rooms....would stay there again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Away from the city huddle,

Posted Dec 17, 2016
Not to busy, crammed space good for one or two people. Ask for a corner room if possible there is significantly more space. Elevator is always busy due to cleaning staff holding it up and usage, cold rooms. I stayed in the middle of December

Good location

Posted Dec 11, 2016
Pros: Location and night receptionist.
Cons: Certainly restaurant staff and room servicing.
Location: Good location to Central Park, brownstone building and strawberry Fields memorial.
Hotel is ideal for subway, hop on hop off buses and Central Park. Room was ok but small. The two male receptionists were good but restaurant staff were rude and unless you spoke Spanish they were not forthcoming with help at all. Chamber maids were not good, no replacement of coffees, creamers etc including cups/glasses.

Great location!

Posted Dec 10, 2016
Pros: The hotel was clean, convenient, and the free breakfast was good enough to start out day with.
Cons: See above.
Location: Very convenient. Hotel is right around the corner from the subway on 72nd and CPW and the entrance to Central Park and Strawberry Fields.
The hotel was a little confusing to find as the first building number on West 71st St displays 115 on its awning. But, the number is really for 115 Central Park West (side entrance), not 115 W 71st St. Just continue west down the street and the rest of the building numbers are correct. We kept forgetting to complain, so I don't know if anything could have been done, but it was winter and cold outside. So, the steam radiator was in operation. Every time it came on there was a loud hissing and made it difficult to sleep through the night. Another night there was heavy rain and because we were on the top floor, it sounded like the water was falling into a pan. It was very loud.
