Great location. Clean

Great location. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Little dated but very clean. Close to broadway shows (walking distance) Times Square within a block and subway close

Good location in middle of Manhattan.

Pros: We could walk up to Central Park area one day and down to Lower Manhattan area another day and ride the subway back.
Cons: We had to ask housekeeping for some items on the "complimentary" list, which was inconvenient.
Location: Times Square is so lit up and busy, we (women) could go out late at night without feeling uncomfortable.
Close to subway stations, buses and Times Square area. All kinds of attractions, including theatres, sit-down & fast food. By dividing Manhattan into sections, we were able to see everything on our list.

My go to place to stay

No bells and whistles here but it's a great place to stay while on business in New York. The place is always clean, the internet works great, the air quality is clean and the rooms Are always far bigger than most shoebox hotels you find in New York!

Pros: Location. Friendly staff. cleanliness. comfortable rooms
Cons: COFFEE! Although I didn't necessarily expect complimentary coffee, the hotel did not even sell it but directed me to a coffee shop a couple of blocks.
Location: Anything you want or need is nearby.
Terrific location. Near subway. Clean. However, a couple of issues I made known were never resolved or addressed in any way. A burned-out hairdryer and a bathroom sink that would not drain. I would, however, stay again but be more demanding in dealing with any issues that needed attention. Friendly staff.

Wonderful discovery

Pros: The room, public areas, all the staff except the concierge staff, the location, cleanliness and especilally Billy the bellman.
Cons: The concierge staff and not closing the bar at 10:30.
Location: The restaurants close by are a real treat and Times Square is loaded with activity options.
The hotel was a wonderful discovery that I might not have found otherwise had it not been for Expedia. The location is superb and the hotel is very pretty. The public areas are very nice and my room was very nice, great view (4817) looking north, very clean and very comfortable. The room was well insulated and when someone is in the bathroom you cannot hear them. Billy, who is one of the bellmen, is one great, polite and nice gentleman. He could be a concierge as he was much more helpful than either of the concierges that I spoke with. The lady was not helpful at all so I went to Billy and he suggested the Blue Fin restaurant which is exceptional. My buddy and I ate there 4 times, 2 dinners and 2 lunches. My only complaint was that we returned from a basketball game at the Garden at 10:20 Thursday evening March 30th and right after ordering one drink the bartender announced that it was the last call at 10:30 P.M. no less.The bar was full as were many tables in the bar area. It is beyond absurd for a bar in a mid town hotel to close at 10:30 on a Thursday. We asked why and the bartender said it was because of management's labor policy. Absurd beyond absurd. If that is not changed we will never stay there again. We have never heard of a first class hotel closing their bar at 10:30. Also, the concierge staff needs replacing. They were the worst staff I have ever experienced. Very unprofessional. All the housekeepers and front desk staff were outstanding and very professional.

No basic/usual hotel stuff(toothbrush, toothpaste, Water, water heater, etc).

The staff was okay. not very warm or friendly. the conditions of the hotel are outdated - needs renovations.

This hotel was great 15 years ago.

It is very clean but in serious need of updating. The heater was on the whole time (with no way to shut it off) and we had to open the windows to cool off the room. When it's 40 degrees outside and 78 in the room it is REALLY uncomfortable. Believe it or not, opening the windows did little to help since they are childproof windows. Sleeping at night was tossing & turning due to the windows being opened and the sounds from the sirens and people honking their horns. Overall I would not stay here again. If there's nothing else available for the price it is ok, but I rather lay a little more or stay further away from Times Square in order to have a more comfortable stay.
