The AC was out during our summer stay. It was hot and hard to sleep. They provided a fan, but I heard from other guests that arrived before us the AC was out before we arrived. I wish the hotel would have informed us of the outage. I would have booked another option. They did give us a $300 credit. But our stay was uncomfortable and it wasn’t addressed properly. I kept getting alerts from the hotel about skipping housekeeping, but never any alerts about the AC. For that reason, our stay was unpleasant.

No air conditioning. And no fixes for it. It was not that hot in NYC during our stay. Upper 70s and barely 80… but our room temperature never got below 76 degrees. The hotel’s only solution was to bring a fan to the room. Completely unacceptable for $600 per night!!! And this problem has been going on for weeks per the reviews

We don’t like anything about the property terrible costumer service when we ask why the a/c was not working and the manager told us to look for another hotel we arrived Monday July 15 and only some of the rooms had the a/c working but when we check in nothing was mentioned and on Tuesday July 16 every room and the hole hotel was without a/c we didn’t get any credit or money back for this inconvenience we stay for 4 nights without a/c and no apologies from the hotel staff I’ll never stay on this hotel again

Bad experience overall! The air conditioning wasn’t working in my room. I requested to be moved and the lady at the front desk said to me that they were cleaning the rooms and as soon as the room was ready they were going to move us, however, she didn’t follow through! Later that night, the manager was kind to moved us to a room with beautiful view that was still warm and I ended up sleeping in a couch. I felt ripped off.

Ac wasn't working in our original room all day long and it was never fixed. We then had to get moved to another room at 1:30 in the morning and the AC didn't work in that room either. It was not fun sleeping at 77 degrees. A fan was brought to my room that helped a little bit but still, wasn't completely content. Also heard this was happening to other guests.

The staff was fabulous! I was traveling with my 93 year old mom who uses walker. Front desk upgraded our room to make her more comfortable. All interactions with staff were very positive. We had view of park, which was lovely.

We found the deep teal colour of the room to be very dark. Our previous stays before the renovation had us in a pleasant light room which creates a good illusion of space. The room lighting was not sufficient and the headboard was the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. With it being only a foot higher than the bed it constantly cuts into the back of your neck if you are sitting up on the bed.

Our entire stay of mid June 2024 was ruined by a massive failure of the air conditioning unit of the building. Instead of a restful, enjoyable stay at the hotel, we had to sweat it out with uncomfortable, sleepless nights. Our room was 77 degrees and very humid. Extremely unpleasant. We dealt with four different managers, who ranged from reluctant to disclosing the truth to outright belligerent, as though we had no right to complain. Reimbursements were promised and not delivered. A free two day voucher was promised to be sent to us via email upon our return, and has never been sent. This type of lack of service and lack of follow up, broken promises is entirely unacceptable. Most disappointing, infuriating actually, and as a result I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, as they have a complete disrespect for their good clientele, and I might add we have stayed there previously many times through the years. No longer.

The cleanliness of the hotel is definitely not on par for a 4-star hotel. Washrooms had finger prints on the wall, water stains on the toilet, dirt on the shower wall and toilet paper on the shower head. It's rather disgusting condition and no where close to being clean. The hotel facility is also old, the washroom ceiling vent was leaking and hot water did not work in the shower. No one tried to speak to me about the situation and the staff are just very passive. One of the worst experience i've had in New York.

Five day stay: Negatives: Shower wouldn’t drain and overflowed each day and hotel would not fix or move us to another room. Food in main restaurant was very very subpar. Staff not friendly. Positives: The Darling rooftop was amazing as were the restaurant staff there, so highly recommend that for a dinner/drinks out. Location of the hotel is great. Overall: would not stay at again due to the negatives as there are plenty of hotels in NYC.
