Solid Hotel

Posted Feb 4, 2016
Location: Great location
A comfortable and cozy stay for those that are looking for a simple place to sleep and get ready. If you are looking to spend a lot of time in the room, probably not the best option

Pod 51

Good location, close to the subway. The rooms were small but cozy. There were amenities that were cool like neighborhood walks and a tv show audience opportunity.

Small rooms, but didn't spend too much time there.

Pros: The choice of decor was pleasing. The staff members were all very professional, courteous, generous, and very helpful.
Cons: Improve the climate control and ventilation in the rooms.
Location: Right around the corners are great food stops. Shopping and Broadway are a few blocks west.
Location was alright -- needed to walk quite a bit to and from places. Staff was always helpful, kind, and courteous. The room was well maintained and cleaned daily. However, there was a problem with the climate control and ventilation. It was always extremely hot in our room. The heating unit was not pleasant to operate either and the plumbing/coils would make extremely loud, unbearable knocking sounds throughout the night. It was impossible to sleep through at times. Sometimes the window needed to be left wide open just to get air in and counter the heat and pressure.

Great sleep and shower hotel

Posted Jan 31, 2016
Pros: Cleanliness, proximity to restaurants and subways, friendliness of staff, cost
Cons: Better channel selection on tv.
Location: Area replete with a variety of small restaurants which get very busy after 6pm. I was there for reasons not tourism related.
I'm a retired business traveler who has logged many nights in hotel rooms. Stayed 3 nights in queen room. Room and bathroom were very clean - to me, the most important criteria for a hotel room. Bed was comfortable. Other than typical urban sounds, room was very quiet. Reception and staff couldn't be any friendlier. Over a dozen restaurants within walking distance. Subways a 5-10 minute walk. The bathroom area was very tight quarters, not a problem for me but could be for a tall or overweight individual.

Für eine Städtereise ein perfektes Hotel

Posted Jan 31, 2016

perfect for those on the go

Posted Jan 31, 2016
Cons: A bar fridge wouldn't go astray. In winter you can use natures fridge by sitting things on the bathroom windowsill...
Location: NYC is literally at your doorstep. Ess-a-bagel is on the corner, 24 hour diner round the back, and a quick walk to the blinding city of lights!
Great location, you can see the lights of radio city music hall from the front door! 15min walk to Times Square, 5 min to the main access subway lines. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, and my room was serviced everyday. It's perfect for those who don't intend to spend a lot time in a hotel but are there to explore the city. Other perks include a heater/aircon, plus the windows open, mood lighting in the shower, the shower itself (whilst tiny) was ahhhhhmazing. Excellent pressure from a giant shower head. the bed was a little firm, but not terrible. Pillows nice and fluffy. Yeah, the walls are pretty thin and you can hear the comings and goings in the corridor, but if you're anything like me, you'll pass out from 14 hours of exploring every day pretty quickly. Definitely recommend it, and I hear Pod 39 is just as great!
