Very close to Times Square

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Very conveniently located at the north end of Times Square. Can be a little noisy for sleep with the car horns but you end up tuning it out. Good value for money. Decent sized rooms, clean; bathroom well stocked (towels, soap, etc).

Very nice hotel. Staff pleasant and attentive.

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Huge room, huge comfortable king bed
Cons: For some odd reason, TV speaker was in bathroom!
Location: Right smack in the center of Times Square. Great view from room - just don't want to try to walk around at night in midst of a zillion people.
This is a very nice hotel and the staff was accommodating and pleasant. I chose it for the location, but it is just so ridiculously crowded in Times Square that we would have been better off staying a little further from the action and coming into Times Square for the shows. I was traveling with my two daughters (11 and 24) and it was overwhelming trying to walk down the street together, or even wheel our small bags from parking garage to hotel which was 1/2 a block away!

Perfect location for Times Square hustle & bustle

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: The room, the staff, the location (mostly).
Cons: The renovation, facilities, drink charges
Location: Everything in manhatten
The hotel is right on Times Square. The location is perfect as long as you want to be in the frenetic centre of New York. The traffic is gridlocked morning to night and it's shoulder to shoulder on the sidewalk. The hotel is a tranquil haven but ask for a high room or the noise may affect your stay. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The room was typically large and well equipped. Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing renovation therefore it had reduced facilities which was a surprise (July 2015). If you just want a good room in the middle of it, this place is fine though. I wouldnt eat or drink there, the rates are high. There is a $16 a day wifi charge (typical in the states) but a pain. If I stayed again I'd go for a hotel near Central Park. Still easy access to everything but less frantic and a bit more peaceful. The hotel was overall good.

Wedding dress shopping for daughter.

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Friendliness and cleaniness
Cons: Rooms need more outlets for electronic equipment, laptops and cell phones.
Location: Times square in NYC. What more could you ask for?
The front desk clerk that helped many times during our stay was delightful, helpful and very professional. She was a joy to work with and went above and beyond her duties. Give her a raise or bonus! I don't remember her name, however, she deserves praise for her customer support.

Mattress Problems and Saturday housekeeper

Posted Jul 16, 2015
The mattress had a broken spring which stuck out on the side of the bed upon sitting on it. The housekeeper on Saturday entered the room without knocking repeatedly while we were packing. When approached she motioned that she couldn't speak, but that's not an excuse for following rules about entering a room especially when told the room was still occupied. The food was too expensive and the menu was too limited.

Perfect hotel in Times Square

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Awesome hotel. You step out the front door right into Times Square. I'm a Platinum Elite member and was given the royal treatment. The staff was super helpful and very nice. We were there for a girls weekend and loved this hotel. It's close to Grand Central Station and there's a subway stop right around the corner. I highly recommend!

Nice hotel in the heart of Times Square

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: location, room, housekeeping
Cons: The only drawback was having to ride one elevator from the ground to the lobby, then another elevator from lobby to room. Elevators were quick though.
Location: Restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, theaters, and transportation.
I enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance. Check-in was a breeze and pleasant. The doormen were helpful, the room was nice, and housekeeping was awesome. It seemed no matter what time I left hotel and came back, room was found neat and orderly . Location in the heart of Times Square was a definite plus.
