Nice hotel near Times Square

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Clean room, friendly staff, near great restaurants and other sites. We could see the Empire State Building from our room. The only issue I had was the elevators. We often waited for long periods of time for the elevator. Several time, I chose the stairs, even though I was traveling with two young children. Breakfast was nice but wildly busy. The staff handled the large number of guests at breakfast VERY well. The food and service were excellent though.

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square. We are glad you enjoyed the convenience of our location and the view from your room. Our team works hard to make our hotel the best property in the city and having our efforts recognized is greatly appreciated! However, we apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the elevators. During our peak travel times, the elevators take a little longer due to higher demand, similar to rush hour traffic. We appreciate your business and hope that you will visit us again the next time you are in New York City. Thomas Gili, Guest Relations Manager

Location, location, location

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Pros: Having a kitchen is helps save money on meals out, and a huge breakfast is also included. Perfect location.
Cons: Elevator service during breakfast is pretty slow, but staff tried to help manage it.
Location: Bryant Park, Times Square, Macy's, Grand Central, Empire State Bldg, Broadway, TKTS ticket booth all within a short walk. Subway literally steps away.
We chose this hotel for the kitchen, but it turned out to be in a most perfect location for our needs. Steps from a major subway stop, Bryant Park (which we did not know about before our trip but quickly became our favourite spot to hang out), and short walks to Broadway, Times Square and several architectural landmarks. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, and found 2 doubles to be a tight fit for sleep, but we managed. The rooms themselves are larger than typical doubles due to having the kitchen. The bathroom is small, but again, we managed. Room temperature and water temperature were never a problem, the only thing that was a bit negative was the constant presence of water on the carpet in the main traffic area, and in front of the closet. Staff thought it was excess condensation from the air conditioner and said they would send up a fan but never did. We put towels down to soak it up as when we stepped in it, it actually pooled up around our feet. The breakfast is huge, and very busy. They offer hot options, fruit, a waffle bar, yogurt bar, oatmeal, cereals, breads & bagels, etc. One day we couldn't find seats in the huge lounge, but we did eventually. Go early if you can. We were usually not hungry until mid-afternoon so were able to accomplish a lot of sightseeing.

Adresse à retenir !

Posted Aug 21, 2016
A recommander.

Conveniently and centrally located in MidTown

Posted Aug 20, 2016
Pros: Location, laundry facility, free breakfast
Cons: Bathroom has no vent, the toilet doesn't flush unless you hold the handle for a while. Laundry facility: coin machine, some appliances doesn't work
The Residence Inn @ Times Square is centrally and conveniently located 4 blocks away from Times Square. Room is decent, hotel staff are nice, and the free breakfast is OK. You need to be up early to take advantage of the buffet and to use the elevators so you don't have to wait for elevators that are being heavily used during that time. This hotel has a laundry facility which is great if you stay in NYC for several days like we did. The only problem is that half of the Washer/Dryers are typically not in operable condition. We saw 50% out of order signs and the change coin machines either don't work consistently or are not emptied frequently enough. You have to go back to the lobby and rely on the front desk to give you change (if they have enough). We discovered that the Valley Bank across the street during business hours, will make change for you. The room is equipped with a kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher, no stove) with utensils, crock-pot, plates, cutting board, wine bottle opener, pots and pans. If you need a portable stove, you must request from housekeeping. There is Starbucks across the street and several restaurants within a block. The BDFM route subway entrance is right across the hotel. Other subway routes are within few blocks away. The NYC library and Bryant Park is two blocks away. Our bathroom had a very weak shower head, faucet way too close to basin hard to wash both hands at the same time, needs an update.

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your accommodation needs. We appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. Although you noted our great location, laundry facilities and free breakfast where you were satisfied with your stay, I am disappointed that we failed to meet 100% of your expectations. We take your concerns seriously and will alert our engineering team to make the necessary repairs to the washing machines and toilet. Our goal is to deliver outstanding service to every guest at every opportunity. We hope that you will come back soon and let us prove it to you. Thomas Gili, Guest Relations Manager

Schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage

Posted Aug 19, 2016

Salduos,

Good location, but we didn't get room we booked!

Posted Aug 12, 2016
Pros: Location, Breakfast included.
Cons: Get room bookings right!
Location: Good location if you want to be close to Times Sq and the many Midtown attractions
On checking in we were told that we couldn't have the room type we booked (i.e. a room with two double beds) and we were instead given a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The hotel receptionist was not very sympathetic or keen to help, and he tried to pass off the unavailability of the room and the alternative as an upgrade!! He openly admitted they had overbooked their rooms. We did insist on a room change from day 2 of our stay and this was provided although it meant we had the hassle of re-packing cases after one night. Some reception staff not great. The waiters at breakfast were excellent, very hard working and polite and trying their best to keep everyone happy. Maids were very patient with us and working around us to clean the room. Breakfast gets very busy if you leave it late.

Location: time square, central park, musée MOMA, MET, histoire naturelle, empire state building, rock feller center
