They live up to their star rating. No disappointments here.
Like the Warwick, the Roosevelt was once on par with the Waldorf Astoria, and graced by big names and royalty. It is beautiful and ornate, both inside and out, and the lobby and ballroom areas are worth a visit with our without a room. Like these other older hotels, however, come a few drawbacks. ...
Arrived at hotel after booking and paying via Expedia to be told there was no room reservation for me. I contacted Expedia who were quite helpful. Hotel said I would have to pay again at a now higher rate and get refund from Expedia. I again contacted Expedia who in turn contacted management at the ...
Only 1 block from the subway, friendly and helpful staff too! They have hot tea and breakfast cakes in the morning and candy jars in the afternoon & evening. The room was immaculate and updated. We stayed on the second floor and it was always very quiet.
The hotel met my expectations for a comfortable place to stay within walking distance of the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, other attractions and good restaurants.
The hotel beds were very comfortable I did not want to get up in the morning.
Can’t beat central location. Easy subway access. 5th ave or Madison at door step. Some thin walls between rooms. Room service only breakfast I think but Pain Quotidien just around corner. Hard to beat
We stayed 4 nights and had a good experience. The hotel is a bit dated and lacks amenities, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and for the location the value is fantastic. We had issues with Wi-Fi on the first night, but management was responsive to the problem and gave us a new room that solved ...
Room is simple, small (bed was squeaky and you can hear every conversation in the hallway) but covers the necessity. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and more than anything, I came to explore the city and you really can’t beat this location (and the price). I would love to go back again next ...
This grand old hotel is very conveniently located with Penn Street subway within feet of the front door, and Madison Square Garden across the street. The basement museum on the hotel provides details of the history of this hotel in its glory days. Built in the early 1900s, it was the social center ...
Great hotel. Very comfortable and friendly staff. Prices at the restaurant are very expensive and food is average. You can easily walk across the stree or a few blacks down for amazing food and better prices. View from lobby lounge is well worth it though!
It's a grand lady. A hidden gem in a bustling city. Which you don't hear because of the old-fashioned construction. Truly an experience within the New York experience.
Small hotel within a 5-minute walking distance of Times Square and theaters. Excellent location and so many restaurants around, even a couple doors down. No cafe is in the hotel and no coffee pot in the room, so you are forced to get out to eat and drink. There's a Starbucks a 2-min walk away across ...
