Would stay again

Posted Jan 14, 2017
Clean, but wouldn't say extremely clean. Place is right next to a police station. Police do a great job at respecting hotel in terms of noise. Late check out option a bit of a pain to do. Only certain times it can be requested. Left bags at hotel after check out. A bit noisy, but I guess thats NY. Great place, would stay again.

Be Sure You Don't Stay On The 1ST Floor

Posted Jan 12, 2017
Pros: The large tv and size of room!
Cons: 1. Make sure everything works in a room before a guest checks in. 2. One remote for the tv. Make it simple! 3. Let the guest know of any construction.
When I checked in the young lady working the front desk wasn't very friendly and was a bit cold. I was upgraded to what they called the Samsung Room on the 1st floor. I think this happen because of my status with Expedia. The room was very cool at 64 degrees and I moved the thermostat to 80 degrees. The room was nice and very large for NY standards. It had an oversize tv, in the sitting area, which I was excited about due to the fact that the NCAA Champion game was that night. After several minutes working the 3 different remotes, I finally got the tv to come on. But there was no sound, I called the front desk and got the young lady that checked me in and she said that she would send maintenance to look at the problem. I waited for over 30 minutes and called the front desk. This time a young man answered and was very nice....he apologized for my problem and maintenance showed up shortly there after. The maintenance guy can't figure out the problem and gets another guy to help him to solve the problem. They finally get the sound back due to a bad connection. After another 15 minutes passed the room was still at 64 degrees. Made the call to the front desk and the young man said he would move me, I was unpacked and was settled in. I asked if they could look at the problem. The solution was to add a space heater....problem solved. The next morning the construction noise started at 7 am and was very loud since it was right outside the window!!!

Excellent location in midtown

Posted Jan 11, 2017
Pros: location and cleanliness
Cons: hot water in shower
Location: everything is nearby
The hotel is newer, modern and very clean. The staff go over and above, and are very helpful. Also, the location is ideal - it's easy to get everywhere; one block from Penn Station, 6-7 blocks south of Times Square (one subway stop). I would recommend this hotel to friends. The only issue we had was that hot water in the shower was in limited supply - I showered 5-6 times, and had hot water 2-3 times, the rest of the time the water was just lukewarm.

iPad and bluetooth headphones suspiciously missing

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Cons: Provide access to a manager who can provide information about items that went missing during stay.
I have stayed in a hotel about once per month for a few years and I've never had a serious problem with a hotel until this recent stay (this is actually my first poor review). I traveled down with my wife to spend a couple of days in NYC (01/03-01/04/2017), and after checkout from the hotel and a short walk to the train I realized that my iPad and bluetooth headphones were missing from my bag. I've called the hotel repeatedly for the past WEEK (it is now 01/09/2017) and left several messages, however I haven't been able to reach anyone who can help me. I'm not sure what to do at this point, but my next step is to contact the police.

Not a 4.5 star hotel - But manager is nice

Posted Jan 5, 2017
Pros: 1. Manager is very apologetic and is willing to help the guests to improve their hotel experience 2. Location is great. Walking distance to everywhere
Cons: staff work ethics, interior design
This is the first time we decided to book via VIP access program with a hotel that's not a typical name brand such as Hyatt, Hilton or Marriott. It has a 4.5 star and the pictures online look clean and decent. However, much to the contrary, we were a bit shocked when entering the lobby as it looked much smaller and less clean. The disappointment started at check-in, when a staff named Elizabeth badly communicated the room availability and made us wait more than 4 hours. Once we got into the room, the room amenities were limited but later on the staff did try their best to provide what we lacked in a prompt manner. There were also some issues with hot and cold water, as well as security, but later on the manager tried her best to resolve the problem and upgrade us to a better room that has better facilities. We stayed for only two days but the overall experience was way less than the 4.5 star (3 star at best). One thing good about this hotel is the location. The staff are not well trained enough to provide good customer service that matches a 4.5 star.

Good location. Lacks amenities found in most hotel

Posted Jan 2, 2017
Very small rooms, a lot of construction going on in the area so it can be loud at times. Walls and ceilings very thin so you could hear a lot going on in other rooms. No room service no sitdown restaurant. Best part of the hotel is location
