Great location, good hotel but can be excellentPosted Nov 20, 2015
Pros: Location and room space
Cons: Friendliness in Hotel Staff. Hallways can be cleaner
Location: Very close to Park Avenue, Madison and Fifth Avenue for shopping. Also, great restaurants nearby
The Benjamin is a traditional hotel in New York, with a great location and close to several attractions. I have stayed in the hotel before, but my expectations were higher. The rooms are comfortable, but the access is getting old. Need cleaning, or renewal. Service could be improved. With the reputation it has, it should have more friendly personnel. It appears that they are not happy when reservations come from Expedia, or low cost provider. This can be an excellent hotel and has great potential to be that way. Hopefully it will invest in new carpets, and inform their staff to be friendlier with the guests, even if they get a lower rate through Expedia.

Excellent hotel in central MidtownPosted Nov 18, 2015
Very good hotel with few faults. Water could be a bit variable in temperature, but otherwise an excellent stay and I wiuld certainly recommend it.

Pros: location, size, room, restaurant & bar, staff

Noisy roomPosted Nov 11, 2015
The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating however the room we were given on the 5th floor faced the rear of the hotel. The adjoining building had huge air extractors which would run all night. Even with the windows closed it was noisy in our room, which in turn kept us up all night. The air condition system was also extremely loud and situated right next to the bed. The hotel staff must be aware of this issue but failed to mention this when we were given this room. I find this unacceptable.

立地がよいPosted Nov 10, 2015

Apart from the large crowds but near enough.Posted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Location. Service. Restaurant.
Cons: The air conditioning is quite noisy plus the Internet access through WiFi could be better.
Location: Great...good restaurants nearby and shopping
Very Good. Great restaurant which is rarely the case at hotels. Rooms are confortable and the correct size.

Good location but that's about itPosted Oct 24, 2015
Very disappointed. Room was very dark with no warm inviting feeling felt like I was in a garden level basement. furnature was old and did not match. Have stayed 6-7 times here before but has been about 5 years ago so thought I knew what I was getting. WRONG The remodel is cheap with some old furniture and Mismatched new. The king suit was way over priced! When asking for another room I was told that is all they had available, funny I got there at 5pm and many more came after me! Never again at the Benjamin

Nice midtown hotel away from Times Square.Posted Oct 17, 2015
Stayed here over Columbus Day weekend. It's a very nice hotel within walking distance to a lot of midtown attractions. Yet it was away from the chaos of Times Square. The staff was friendly and the room was very nice and comfortable.

Convenient but noisyPosted Oct 12, 2015
Pros: Modern amenities, intimate boutique hotel, friendly staff.
Cons: Soundproof lower level rooms please!
Location: Shopping is within walking distance, subway station is nearby.
Arrived really early from a red-eye flight, and the staff was kind enough to let me have a room. However, my room faced Lexington on the 3rd floor, and it was the noisiest room ever. Not sure if there's some emergency services based nearby but there were sirens passing by every other minute and it was as L-O-U-D. Granted, this is New York City, but I think there could be some measures taken by the hotel, like more sound proof windows/walls. We needed earplugs the first night (would help if the hotel provided these in the rooms on the lower levels facing Lexington). To make matters worse, hurricane Jaoquin was passing through the lower states and it was rainy and cold out. Apparently there is some rule (building? city?) where the heat won't kick on until it is about 48 degrees outside, no matter what you do with your in-room thermostat. I'm pretty sure we were just a couple of degrees off, if that. Well, this lower floor room was quite cold. The Pros: We booked a one bedroom suite and it is spacious and updated. We asked if we could move to a different location the next night, and thank goodness, there was enough availability to accommodate us. The second room was a bit smaller, but same amenities. The bathroom is spacious for New York standards. There was way less noise in this second room (almost none), and it was also warmer because it was on a higher floor. To be honest, our experience between the two rooms was like night and day.
