This was a great place to stay and explore New York! Extremely central mid-town location, next to a subway and walking distance from mid-town attractions. The rooms were huge for New York and well-appointed. The staff were a highlight, lovely and friendly, regardless of who was on shift. The character of the hotel was a decisive factor in choosing it over other chain brands and did not disappoint both in the lobby, and the rooms. The beds were comfy and the rooms were very clean. Constructive feedback: would love to see the bar downstairs open and tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, not having this is unusual for a hotel. The slow lift issues were being mentioned in reviews when we booked months ago and seem to be still ongoing, if you have a room on a lower floor and are able to use the stairs, this isn't an issue and wasn't for us. Would definitely stay here again!

Staff amazing.. helpful and friendly and Hotel is well situated for transport, restaurants, shopping and walking. Hotel is a bit tired but perfectly functional. Try and avoid a street side room.. very noisy at night

Entire hotel staff was friendly! Will miss housekeeping ladies being sweethearts in the morning. The whole area is very convenient, right next to two train stations and a couple of places to eat nearby. It’s also a nice walk over to Bryant Park which was a great option to have. Would definitely recommend & revisit!

On the plus side, our room was spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom was nice, everything was clean and the desk staff were very pleasant. On the negative side, there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and the one working lift was tiny and very slow. By far the worst problem though was the noise. Just down the road another building was undergoing some major renovation, and the work seemed to go on all night. Trucks pulling up and being loaded with rubble, blocking the road, irate drivers honking their horns. All night. It was impossible to sleep without earplugs.

We enjoyed our two night stay here. The only complaint is that even with the windows up, it was very loud but I think that's just what you get in a big city! The room was clean and the lobby was clean and tidy. It would be nice if they offered drinks at the cute bar area (even if only serve yourself water and coffee).

The room was wonderful, the bed comfortable, etc. Though one of the two elevators was being repaired, we had no problems entering or exiting our floor. The one surprise came at the end when I was told that, in addition to the pre-paid room fees I paid on the Expedia site, I was CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $43.00 per night. This supposedly was disclosed, but, though I looked carefully when booking the reservation, I saw nothing about this mentioned. BUYER BEWARE OF EXPEDIA and its claim that all fees are included in the price.

sadly this place was a disapointment. no services, hot water took ages to reach taps, no coffee or any type of food service. only one elevator, it took ages to get to upstairs floors. THEY EVEN HAD A NERVE TO CHARGE FOR A RESORT FEE, ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. THEY ARE RE BUILDING THIS LOCATION AT GUESTS EXPENSE. VERY DISSAPOINTED BUT LOCATION WAS GOOD. THEY COULD NOT EVEN CALL A TAXI FOR YOU!

Friendly management. Cute boutique hotel with comfortable? Stylish, recently refurbishment rooms in a building with beautiful details. There are issues with the elevator but we were on the second floor and were content to use the stairs. Price point was very reasonable.

Very old hotel beautifully decorated. Only one working elevator though and VERY small. Can only fit 4 people and its tight especially with luggage. We had to walk down 9 flights of stairs with luggage because we couldn't wait any longer. ( stairs ate dmall and spiral) We were on the 9th floor and could hear everything outside at 2am including yelling people and traffic. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. No breakfast or anything extra. Nightly cost did not include a " destination fee" of $41.17 for each night.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone . The location is in the heart of the city so walking distance to almost everything .its close to subway and train station and the staff there they are amazing .. they go out of the way to accommodate your needs and truly make you feel at home . The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all wonderful. The only thing to consider is if you have a handicapped traveler. The elevator is very small and very slow. Was not an issue for us. We took the stairs while we stayed most of the time which we all benefited from. Looking forward to our next stay!

Really good location for everything in central NYC. Good links to Penn and Grand Central stations. Spacious, clean room, comfy beds, good facilities and sizeable stage for cases and clothing, fridge in room to store drinks and snacks bought throughout the stay and bottled water provided. Only down side was the lift was quite slow as there was one lift in use due to the other being under maintenance. For an older building it is in excellent condition, and I expected the lifts to be slower than modern hotels. Would stay here again.

This was a great hotel. It was a walking distance to Times Square, the Empire State Building, nearby shopping locations, and the metro. It was far enough away to not hear the outside noise. The staff was really friendly. Our hotel room was clean. The only issue was the elevator; it was really slow and only one was operational. Overall, it was a great experience.

The hotel was extremely accommodating! We caught a red eye into the city, our room wasn't supposed to be ready until 3 pm, but they allowed us to drop ALL our luggage at 7am , and had our room ready by 2pm. We stayed 6 nights, the staff was always willing to help with any questions we had . My son ended up leaving his Apple watch in the room, we realized once we got home to California! The manager was so sweet to let us know they had found it, and sent it back to us ! I definitely recommend this hotel! The only downside is 1 really slow elevator, they are in the process of getting a new one, but until then it is a wait for the elevator up and down. But we would definitely stay here again!

I stayed with my two daughters for a quick trip to nyc. It was the perfect location for walking to Broadway, kid friendly shopping, restaurants, Empire State Building. Really a great location, convenient to the subway and Penn Station. The room was cute and the staff was friendly and kind. It was a really good value. I would definitely stay there again.

Loved it here. Very clean! Front desk girls were awesome. I liked that it was very walkable to major attractions; Rockefeller Center; Times Square; Broadway, Fifth Avenue shopping, Empire State Building; MOMA and so much more! Also loved decor! Beautiful and good price! Would return. The only bad thing was there was only 1 elevator and super slow.
