Better hotels for similar $

Arrived before our cruise for a one night stay, and then again at the end of the week for another two night stay. On the initial arrival, no porter came to pick up our luggage. No one even asked if we required help. Four people in our party and five pieces of luggage plus carry on baggage and yet no help or concern from hotel staff. The one night stay was fairly uneventful. Fast forward, until after the cruise and our two night stay. Both times we were in a two bedroom suite. Upon arrival, at 10 am, this time we received porter service. We were told that our room was not ready and it would be after 12 pm prior to being able to check in. Left our luggage with the hotel staff and went to explore Central Park. Returned at 215 pm, only to find out that the room was not ready. Was told it would be after 3. At that point, we decided to have drinks in the vote bar. Ordered a 8 oz glass of apple juice for our 7 year old and 2 glasses of wine. The apple juice was $7, slightly ridiculous for a juice box poured into a glass. Once our room was finally available, we checked in. The next morning room, after room service came to clean the room, trash was still left around the room from the night before. For approximately 1100/night, we would have much rather stayed in a hotel that was slightly more accommodating and would provide a bottle of water in the room.
