Plain and simple, not a finer hotel in New York.Posted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Everything. See above.
Cons: Maybe just one additional pair of slippers? I walked so much the welcome fluff of a new pair was joy.
Location: Where do I start? The Met, shopping, and my friends, being guests at the same time as I.
I travelled to New York last week and had the great pleasure of staying at The Lowell for the first time. A dear friend recommended the Lowell and it exceeded my expectations. The Lowell could not have provided a lovelier, silkier stay for me. Absolute perfection. John, the concierge, was aware my stay coincided with my birthday and a bottle of champagne and a chocolate birthday cake were awaiting me in my room. I've no doubt, had I asked, a dozen staff would have been upstairs singing "Happy Birthday" to me, just because that's the perfect elegance of The Lowell. The hotel is absolute perfection; I cannot wait to return. And I had the great privilege of seeing the Pope to boot! His Holiness would have loved The Lowell. Kindest regards to everyone who made my stay an absolute joy.

The photos of this hotel looked amazing....but...Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: The location was great
Overall the photos of this hotel on line looked incredible but the product was FAR from what the photos depicted. It was not the 5 star hotel that we expected. The service was mediocre, the product was average and the overall experience not a wow!

Staff almost promises the world prior to check-in, then fails to deliver after arrival.

Elegant Boutique HotelPosted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: The location and the service - both excellent!
Location: Many things are in walking distance - Central Park, shopping - and 5th Avenue and the Moma were also within easy walking distance.
This hotel is well located between Park and Madison. Charming boutique hotel with great service. The support structure outside the hotel was a little disconcerting as we pulled up and the lobby was quite dark and small when we checked in late on our first night. The room was smaller than expected and the toilet area was quite cramped - not suitable for a large person! The bed was extremely comfortable though and the room was very quiet. We faced the inside courtyard - brick all round and no view. Breakfast in the small but stylish second floor restaurant was excellent with a great selection. We partook of the English tea before heading out to the theatre on our second night. A great way to dine before the show, leaving dinner for after the show.
