Our stay at The Lucerne exceeded expectations. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the area was convenient to Central Park, The Natural History Museum, and many places to eat. A must stay if traveling to NYC.

The location of The Lucerne is outstanding. The room we had was an interior one with little natural light as it backed up to another building just a few feet away. Food at the Nice Matin was terrific.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Our only complaint was that the water temperature would sometimes change while we were taking a shower. But other than that, the rooms were clean, and the hotel looked well cared for.

A perfect place to stay in NYC! Classic hotel in a beautiful building and located in a fabulous and vibrant Upper West Side neighbourhood. Within short walking distance from Central Park and the epic “Zabars” Jewish Deli! Could not believe how affordable the hotel was.

I didn’t know what to expect but for the price the accommodations are good. Yes the decor is dated but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The photos aren’t the best representation - really the rooms were just fine. It’s an old build so you can hear water moving through pipes but it’s periodic and wasn’t disruptive to me. The staff was kind, well informed, and super responsive which is always a plus in my book. Overall a good stay for a good price.

The walls were well painted and furniture was good quality. Everything was tidy, linens neat and clean. Bed very comfortable. Radiator made loud noises, pings repeatedly disturbing my sleep. The view was of two other windowed properties, but no street noise!

Clean, comfortable and safe hotel with a European style architecture. It would have been nice to have more affordable food and beverage options in the hotel. There is one restaurant next door that is moderately priced ($15-$40 per meal) and serves French food. There is a market and other coffee and bagel shops and restaurants near by.

Perfect spot for our family of four. The 2 queen suite had a small sitting room outside the bedroom with two chairs and a mini fridge that was so useful. The bedroom was dark and quiet and everyone slept well. Love that the windows open for fresh air. Beds and pillows were comfy. Wonderful location walkable to the subway, central park, museum and restaurants.

Wonderful! We used to live a couple of blocks from this gorgeous hotel, and it was such a treat to stay here for our visit “home.” Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful; rooms were immaculately clean, with comfy beds and bedding; workout room was well-equipped and clean; and the location was perfect. The Lucerne is in a great location. It’s only 1 block from a metro station and 2 blocks from Central Park. The surrounding area is full of restaurants and cafes. The property itself is kept extremely clean and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again the next time I’m in New York City.

Excellent location, 1 block from the #1 subway line, with plenty of dining optiins very close to hotel. Easy walking to Central Park. Staff was excllent from front desk to front doormen to room maids. Also, the attached restaurant Nice Matin was a fabulous place to have breakfast every morning - the staff there were very professional and service oriented and the meals were very good as was the very pleasant atmosphere and decore. Would most definetly recommend this fine older hotel in the Upper West Side of New York.

Had a great stay here. Also there's a parking garage right across the street which was very convenient and the hotel is located in a very nice, if a bit expensive (but it *is* the upper west side) neighborhood!

I felt seen and safe. Staff were friendly and it felt like they remembered us as we came and went during our stay. For example: I had a question at the desk the night before our departure and mentioned we were leaving early. When we came down at 4 a.m., the young man at the door seemed to know to expect us. Great neighborhood for dining. On arrival, we entered the elevator with three women who had just finished dining at the attached restaurant. They spoke highly of staying at The Lucerne for their get-togethers in the city, which also went a long way toward making an infrequent traveler comfortable.
