Great Mid-Town Location!Posted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: For an old building, of course, there will be thin walls, so lots of noise coming from the hallways, but that didn't ruin our stay.
Cons: For the most part, the staff at the desk were more than helpful, but there was one girl who really didn't show interest or care about the guests.
Location: The location of the hotel was perfect, right in mid-town, close to many metro stations to get around anywhere.
We arrived after a red eye flight and scored an early check in. The Door Men were fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable. The room was quite small, but we were in New York City - how long would we be in the room? Only to sleep! So, for that, it was a perfect room. It was a very clean room and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. On our last day, our shuttle to JFK was running late. The door men were very concerned about us, and made calls to ensure our shuttle was on it's way. Come to find out, the shuttle was stuck in traffic, up the street. One of the door men took our luggage and led us the way about 2 and a half blocks to our shuttle! Great service!

Exceeded ExpectationsPosted Sep 21, 2015
I reviewed this and several similarly situated hotels in the area before booking. I ultimately decided on the Mansfield after weighing price and location. I travel quite a bit and am accustomed to staying in the best hotels across the country. The Mansfield is designed with a business or short stay in mind. The building is not expansive, but it has some nice amenities. What it lacked in size, the Mansfield made up in service. The staff was first-rate. Helpful, but not obtrusive. I stayed on one of the small suite options and it had all the room I needed.

Do not spoil your stayPosted Sep 17, 2015
Pros: sorry, no much. Should not be on the list with Expedia.
Cons: Rooms are too small, washroom in bad shape, old carpets....
Location: Shopping on 5th Avenue
The rooms are very small, old and not clean. I've stayed in other hotels in the area that were excellent and would not recommend this hotel. The staff tried to accommodate and moved us to another room, but the same issues with tiny room size, old carpets, small bathroom, issues with items not clean. I travel 1-2 times a year from Toronto, Canada to shop in NY and this hotel just did not work out at all.

Hotel centralePosted Sep 17, 2015

Nice hotel in a great locationPosted Sep 17, 2015
Wonderful hotel located just blocks from Times Square. Many really good restaurants within a couple blocks. The hotel is spotless & the staff very friendly. It's an older hotel with lots of character. They also offer very reasonable parking, tho off site, it is within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

great location, lovely building, helpful staffPosted Sep 16, 2015
Pros: decor, staff, location
Cons: more artificial light in rooms, more storage space
Location: Location really great - walking distance of Times Square, theatre district, Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue shops, New York City Library, Chrysler B
We had two junior suites here, one for me and my husband and the other for our grown up son and daughter to share. Ensuite bathroom, good size queen bed, with wood/glass french doors to sitting area with sofa bed. It was comfortable for two people although very little storage space even for two let alone four. Lovely period decor, and nice bathroom with great shower and bath.Very lttle natural light (not surprising really in a high rise area) but our room in particular could have done with more artificial light - thought I would might lose things in the wardrobe or drawers. Quiet - I slept well. Lovely reception area and library in which to sit, again both in fitting with the period of the building. Staff very helpful and efficient. Free coffee in the library and iced water with fruit in the reception as well as lovely home made cookies! They had what looked like a well equipped gym (though I didn't use it). Location really great - walking distance of Times Square, theatre district, Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue shops, New York City Library, Chrysler Building, Rockerfeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall, Empire State Building, and diners and restaurants for breakfast and dinner.

COULD have been great!!Posted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: Interior design/feel
Cons: Air/con units
Location: Location is perfect for getting around. You could walk to almost every attraction.
After looking at hotels in that particular area on Broadway, The Mansfield Hotel was perfect, this stylish looking boutique hotel (designed by the same chap who built St Patricks Cathedral on 5th ave) ticked all the boxes. I thought my wife would love it for a suprise 30th!!! So imagine my disappointment when we turned up to a hotel completely covered in scaffold and black netting with 30 foot skips out front!!! I was distraught, nobody had mentined at time of purchase major building works are being carried out... Never mind we will carry on regardless, so the interior was great, until the leak started in the Library, nothing beats a morning coffee and a paper listening to drip after drip into a bucket.. The room was clean and larger than expected, but we did upgrade to a suite as we heard the rooms could be a bit small which paid off, the styling was perfect, but it was very dark even with every light and lamp turned on. Also we had to use the air/con constantly as it was really humid at night we tried not having it the once but was too uncomfortable. The noise of these units compares to a scooter/moped!!!!!!

Fantastisk beliggenhedPosted Sep 15, 2015
