Understated luxury in iconic locationPosted Sep 6, 2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff, very comfortable rooms
Cons: Not much!
Location: Next to Battery Park, looking out over the Hudson. Near to 9/11 memorial/museum, Jewish Museum, Wall Street. Near Meat Packing District. Rent bikes
Ritz-Carlton have a deserved reputation for luxury but this hotel had a great location at Battery Park, looking out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We had two rooms, one with a view out over the Hudson in which the hotel had thoughtfully provided a telescope! The other was a large corner room which had enough space to allow a rollaway bed. The staff were almost entirely excellent- friendly and efficient. My wife had a difficult time persuading a manager to let us have a 2 hour extension to one room for a late checkout but that was the only grumble. The gym was well appointed with a large array of equipment, both machines and free standing weights. Manhattan is a big place, but if you want to stay downtown, we would highly recommend the Ritz Carlton Battery Park!

Nice location.Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: The location and the staff.
Cons: The Tea and Coffee services should be free so is the internet it would be nice if it is complimentary.
Location: The access to the ferry and the water taxi plus enjoining the restaurants and foods specially the Arabic ones. enjoy the walk along the battery park.
Accessible location and quite area the hotel has a view over the statue of liberty.

Not what was booked or expected.Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Location was very convenient...
Cons: Room furnishings are average...broken decorations in hallways, lights half falling of the wall in the room. I could go on...but bottom line not good.
Location: Battery Park, Staten Island Ferry, WTC, Subway System, it's New York...there's always something nearby!
One has expectations when booking / staying at a Ritz Carlton property, unfortunately this one just didn't reach that bar. This was to be a special trip, prior to my daughter going back to school for her senior year. We talked extensively about the location and the "Liberty View" room. Unfortunately when we went to check in, they had the reservation all wrong...wrong room type, wrong side of the hotel and wrong number of beds. The hotel staff was friendly enough, but seemed unable a three day period to fix the issue. I am not sure how the booking system works, but I don't think 4 people in one King size bed is the norm...but hey these are new times.

For the price I was totally underwhelmed. The walls had dark marks and rugs weren't real clean. Best part was the view of the Statue of Liberty from room, but we did pay more for that view.

NY TripPosted Aug 5, 2015
This is by far the most amazing room view of the status of Liberty. It was perfect for 1st time in NY to have the view and close to bus tour, 911/World Trade Center, tour to Status of Liberty.

I love NYPosted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Location & view
Cons: I think the hotel management needs to coach their housekeeping employees to be more polite and courteous and not scream at the guests!!!
Location: Too many to list!
Excellent hotel with world class customer service, as you'd expect from Ritz Carlton. I would have rated 5 for everything except we had a few negative encounters with the housekeeping staff. I think the hotel management needs to coach their housekeeping employees to be more polite and courteous and not scream at the guests!!!

Good viewPosted Jul 15, 2015 on Hotels
The liberty view is good. The room is spacious. It's close to Wall Street, so it's very safe. But the facility is just so so. I don't think it's worth.
