Great Village LocationPosted Nov 24, 2015
The Standard has a fun hip vibe, friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms (albeit a little small). The location is part of the appeal -- a revitalized part of the village, close to Astor Place, St. Mark's Place, Soho and Alphabet City.

Clise to lower east sidePosted Nov 16, 2015
I needed a good hotel near my son's apartment in the lower east side and this hotel was close and had good reviews. I am middle aged but still felt at ease in the high energy atmosphere. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The cafe/bar was lively and had good bar food.

Trendy-Nice Hotel. Overpriced for location.Posted Nov 5, 2015
Pros: Trendy looking people staying there.
Cons: The price considering its location - and not having a gym, or anything really special going on.
Location: Nothing - I kept having to find a cab to the meat packing district, or times square etc.
I booked this hotel by mistake thinking it was their sister hotel in the meat packing district People were excellent, and room was fine - nothing special, but the location was inconvenient - never really anywhere I wanted to be day or night.

Courteous front deskPosted Oct 15, 2015
Pros: Location in the East Village.
Location: First off there is a subway stop very close by. Lots of great restaurants because of being in the East Village. And a few steps away from Washington
You will receive the ultimate welcoming experience from the front desk. They help you with anything that you may require to have a fabulous day in New York City. They help friends of ours get tickets to a Broadway play also reservations for attractions. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are fabulous.

Closet sized rooms are dramatically overpricedPosted Oct 15, 2015
Pros: The staff was nice.
Cons: The rooms have to be bigger and better laid out with less wasted space such as a huge bath tub plus a shower.
Location: Fine location
Incredibly uncomfortable for a multi-day stay for a couple.

Great Place on border or east Village and ST. MarkPosted Sep 14, 2015
Pros: Staff were great, hotel, food and bar\garden. We did not spent not a lot of time in the room as its NY.
Cons: Rooms are small but then again we didn't mind as we not there much. cheaper mini bar prices maybee?
Location: right next to ST Marks and the village.. just go outside!
Spent most our time in the city but always loved the Standard. nice location in an amazing neighborhood. will be back for sure

The perfect NYC hotelPosted Sep 8, 2015
The views are enough to convince you. I've stayed at the Standard East Village a few times, and entering a room each time to see a scenic view of NYC was refreshing. The location is prime for everything you can think of (well, if you're not there for Times Square). I don't think I can brag about the staff and bartenders enough-- they love their jobs and helping you. Stay here, and you't regret it.

Great locationPosted Sep 3, 2015
As a visiting parent of an NYU student the location was perfect. The hotel is immaculate. Will stay here next time.
