Wonderful hotel! Highly recommend this hotel. Absolutely beautiful and great central location.I saved for this trip to New York at my birthday. It was beautiful, my historic presidential suite, was so beautiful and spacious. The staff was always there to help you and professional and pleasant. The breakfast was always put out beautifully and from 12 to 4, every day, you had access to tea sandwhiches, fruit, pastry, and an arrangement of soft drinks, tea, coffe etc. All once again, beautully, set out. I can't say enough about our dream vacation..other than, not wanting it to end.

Classy NYC icon.

Posted Mar 5, 2016
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: A rooftop bar and swimming pool.
Location: Loads to do as it's right by Grand Central Station and not far from Times Square.
First room had great view of the Chrysler building but unfortunately water was dripping through the bedroom ceiling. They moved us immediately to a bigger and better room but it didn't have such a nice view. The service was exemplary and any problems like noisy neighbours playing very loud hiphop was resolved quickly and professionally. For any minor inconveniences they plied us with free cocktails, delicious Red Velvet Cake and generous credit to spend in the great restaurant, the Bull & Bear.

Great service great room!

Posted Feb 11, 2016
Pros: Staff, location, and its history.
Location: Close to shopping, shows and great dining options.
Room we were given was huge, with a balcony as well. Staff was attentive and we didn't pay for one cocktail while there. Don't be afraid to ask for drink tickets!

Major refurb needed

Posted Feb 11, 2016
Pros: Not much. Has great history and enjoyed my frequent stays ten years ago but the hotel is living off past glory and desperately needs an update.
Cons: Invest in the fabric of the building and if you're going to carry on without investing offer more than mere apologies to customers when they complain.
Location: Great location. Shops and museums all a shortish walk away.
On arrival no doorman to take our luggage. Room was very tired looking, yellowing mesh curtains and dirty windows, with carpet in need of replacement. Wall paper bubbling at seams. Phone initially didn't work so used phone in corridor for room service (phone subsequently fixed that evening). Bathroom was also in need of an update with grout around tiles looking filthy and basin and bath with chips in enamel. Impossible to get shower to the right temperature and flow was weak. Was awoken with hammering on the floor above. Had assumed that complimentary breakfast, which we were entitled to could be had in the hotel but as we were staying in the Towers were told we should have used a special floor not the Bull and Bear, where our friends, who were also staying in the Towers, enjoyed complimentary breakfast. Complained when noticed a charge on bill. After initially saying I would have to pay, Manager suggested we go 50/50. Was unhappy. When complained about rest of the hotel was politely dealt with and thanked for my comments. Was told hotel would be going through refurb next year. On departure no doorman to take bags.

Hotel fantastico

Posted Feb 1, 2016
Pros: La posizione, il lusso, la colazione inclusa (rarissimo a New York). Tutto
Cons: Nessuno
