Views over Central Park were amazing

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Having booked the Executive Suite with City View, I found myself in a beautiful suite but not the City view I was expecting (front of a building) I then asked if there was another room with a nicer view? I downgraded to a deluxe room as the View over Central Park (city viewline) was more to my taste.

Only the owner's politics are a minus!

Pleasant medium sized hotel. Friendly staff. Two lovely restaurants. Close to Lincoln Center. Reasonably priced. --Only the ownership of the hotel is a negative....

Nice hotel right across Central park

Posted Jan 31, 2017
Pros: Trump owns it, what can I say!!!!
Cons: The bathroom is too small and hardly any counter space to do makeup. My husband and I couldnt be in there at the same time.
Location: Central Park is right across the street, as well as some shopping and the best part is that there is a Whole Foods right across the street as well.
Enjoyed morning walks in Central Park although it was very cold most days we were there. First time in New York so now I know not to go in the winter. I think it would be great to visit in the spring that way you can walk to most places rather than take an Uber.

Underwhelming

Posted Jan 18, 2017
Pros: View of Central Park and skyline.
Cons: Needs to be updated. No space for it, but it desperately needs an entryway lobby/lounge.
Location: Location is good for tourists who want to go to things like Times Square or Central Park. It's not good for people familiar with NYC.
I feel like the experience would be elegant for a suburbanite who doesn't spend much time outside of standard highway hotels. As for NYC...not impressed with anything. The only positive would be views of Central Park if you are facing the park. The rooms are a bit dated. They are clean but just boring. I had a lg suite yet the bathroom was cramped. There was no lobby to speak of, just enough room for a front desk and a couple of chairs (4 I think). NYC hotels are typically spectacular in many respects...with amazing lounge like lobbies with cocktail bars, stylish settings, etc. The rooms in most NYC hotels are stylish and modern. These were not. I went there for the views of the park, which I got. I would not stay again. Also had construction start at 9am somewhere below my room on my second day. Was NOT happy about that as I paid $1,300 for two nights with the intent of sleeping late each morning. Things like soap, shampoo, etc. was all Trump stamped but was not current with NYC standards in hotels there. They had scents reminiscent of something I'd buy at a stop to the grocery store, rather than being something I'm scouring the internet to try and find as I do most times I stay in NY.

Elegance with a street view of Columbus Circle

Posted Jan 18, 2017
The staff are great, the spa is worth it, the massage therapist was really good at safe deep tissue, the warm salt pool for laps is a huge bonus, and I guess I should have used bullet points. One more, in their lobby restaurant, try the Kale Lemon salad. It may have been the single most delicious dish I've ever had. Their comp coffee in a pot, brought up to my room moments after checking in was a very nice touch.

My Wife's 50th

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Not sure it could be better than it already is.
Location: The location right across the street from Central Park is perfect and the surrounding area is just loaded with classic NY restaurants and shops.
This stay was for my wife's 50th birthday and 10 years being cancer free. The staff was alerted by me of the occasions and I had purchased roses, wine, and chocolate covered strawberries for the arrival without her knowing. The room was set up to perfection and the surprise on my wife's face will never be forgotten. This stay could not have gone any better!!
