A playground for the rich and famous, it was where the martini was invented and F. Scott Fitzgerald wooed Zelda. The hotel closed after prohibition, but reopened this year. There is an amazing rooftop bar overlooking Times Square. Taken on the 102 floor of Freedom Tower. What a view. A must see if you are in NYC. Do it during sunset. It's spectacular. It was a foggy wet day when we walked the Brooklyn Bridge. It was if a vintage filter had been applied to the day. If it wasn't for the constant traffic noise rushing beneath our feet it would be easy to image a bygone era and the hear the past echos of horses hooves and creaking carts passing by. Oh how I miss the burst of fall colours in New York City. Away from bustling Time Square and Central Park, Riverside Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is a quiet oasis to run, walk, cycle, paint, write or just be... surrounded by leaves turning all shades of red, orange and yellow from late September to late November.
