Nice hotel, close to Freedom Tower, Wall St., bpBa

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Nice rooms
The hotel has good facilities, friendly staff and clean rooms. It is not particularly close to a subway station but within 4 or 5 blocks. The area surrounding the hotel is average at best.

Mooi schoon en nieuw hotel middenin Chinatown.

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Ligging is op loopafstand (5 blokken) van The New Museum, en Soho. Vanaf The New Museum rechtuit (9 blokken) naar het westen en je staat voor Prada.
Goede wasserij service. Vriendelijke mensen. Mooi uitzicht vanuit de rooftop bar over Manhattan.

Disappointing

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms.
Cons: Need more common space.
The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown near Little Italy. So if that is what you want, this is the right place. The rooms are very small but have big glass windows overlooking the city. Clean and modern. But things are very tight. The images on the website make you think the rooms are much larger, so beware. The lobby is almost nothing and the restaurants were closed so no place to hang out except in these small rooms. Staff not helpful. Not worth the money we paid. You are better off in SOHO or NOHO at this price.

Great location, staff, view

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Not sure anything can be done about street noise at this point.
I stayed here for 2 nights while in NY for business because it's relatively close to meetings below City Hall. The location is excellent in other respects: great variety of food options within walking distance (Lower East Side, Chinatown, Nolita, Soho & Tribeca), close to stops on most train lines, and a fascinating array of cafes & snack foods in the immediate vicinity. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My corner room on the 12th floor had a spectacular view, as I imagine most of the rooms do in this glass tower. The building seemed to have been put together quickly, so while there was effort to furnish with nice surfaces and materials, the construction work wasn't great -- I suspect the surfaces & detailing will wear very quickly. But the building seems recent, so for now, it's all very pleasant--and super clean. Only slight downside was the traffic noise on the Bowery, but at least this was a constant roar, and not the shattering sound of drunks or garbage/recycling removal that you get in some quieter neighborhoods. The room was well equipped for the business traveler: ironing, coffee, safe, fridge, decent array of TV channels, good wifi (& option to hard wire in too). There's a computer in the lobby that supports printing needs. When I stayed there, the place was full of travelers from all over the world. Chinatown is lively and fascinating--if a little 'ripe' in a heatwave. Altogether a wonderful stay.

Great view of NYC

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Bar on the roof top.
Cons: nothing
Location: China Town, Subway
Small room but comfy!! with a huge window that gave you a great view of NYC!! Quite big for bathroom, they should give more space for room instead of bathroom.

Not too bad

Posted Jul 6, 2015
The Wyndham Garden Chinatown hotel is convenient not only to Chinatown but to Little Italy as well. It's very easy to get to and conveniently located. The 911 Memorial is within a 10 minute drive, and so is Pier 40. The hotel itself was just okay for me. The room was VERY small, and the shower was really odd (it had no closing door/curtain!). The hotel restaurant is decent, but nothing special. In addition, the front desk staff seemed nice, although they didn't offer any additional information or pleasantries about the hotel/area. All-in-all our stay wasn't too bad, but like I said, it wasn't anything amazing either.
