Unusual hotel in convenient location

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: We liked the proximity to Port Authority and Hell's Kitchen as well as the large outdoor patio on the fourth floor. Cool bunk bed loft for a kid.
Cons: Towels were thin and one hand towel was ragged--these should be plush and super white! Elevators backed up during high-peak usage times.
Location: Just blocks away from Port Authority and subway service. Easy walking distance to restaurants, Times Square. Hardy walkers could trek to other sites.
Yotel is a minimalist hotel with a European flair. The ambiance is unique and appealing. The staff's uniforms are gray T-shirts that state their function on the back: "Calling Major Tom," "Fix It," etc. Soft purple lighting and purple accents abound. The lobby is very high-tech: check-in is done on a computer, which spits out your room keys, the "Yobot,"a robotic crane takes and stores your luggage. Guest population mostly adults, many Europeans. I liked the international atmosphere.

Quaint spaced room, but perfect for intimate couple. Quiet even amidst the busy city. Local eats are okay... Ordering in from further away is easy as well. Just wish they had actual room service and trays for the continental breakfast to transport to rooms. Orherwise, a wonderful stay!

I only needed a hotel for sleeping and that's exactly what I got: a cute litter room with a bed that folded up for optimal space. I had so much fun hush looking around because of how differs it looks than a normal hotel.

Clean hotel close to Time Square

Posted Aug 20, 2015
The hotel is in a good location to walk to most destinations. The rooms are very clean but minimalistic. Since there is no coffee maker in the room, you are dependent on the beverage station (level 4) for coffee and tea services. On three occasions when we went to this location for some hot water to make tea, the hot water dispenser was empty. Once I asked at the restaurant for some hotel water and the waiter told me "this wasn't his area."

BEST VALUE NEAR TIMES SQUARE

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: The staff..the room cleanliness..the bar...the atmosphere..no street noise.
Cons: As this hotel does everything well that it offers it would be even better if they could offer a hot breakfast.
Location: Ten minute walk to subway and Timesquare. Ten minute walk to the ferries on the Hudson River. Twenty minute walk to Central park.
First time New York experience from Australia and the choices online were endless. You make a decision and hope that that you have made the right one. My son and I booked for five nights and knew as soon as we arrived that we had made the right choice, our sanctuary away from home. The staff were exceptional and went far beyond the expectation of good service to ensure we had a hassle free stay.Senior management hands on and present .

Young, Hip, Great Location

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Location, functional rooms with free wifi
Cons: Food service was disappointing. The included breakfast was only coffee and muffins and everything else you have to pay.
Location: Very close to Times Square
Yotel's location is great, right in the middle of Manhattan. It attracts a young hip crowd and has a great roof top terrace which provides a fantastic place for drinks and a simple bite in the summer. The rooms are small but very functional. The pull bed/sofa is fun for kids and extremely functional. The only criticism is the room service - it is supposed to last til 11pm but we were told 15 minutes before the kitchen was closed! So as the roof top bar - the food service stopped before the stated 11pm last order. The included breakfast

One Night in NY!

Yotel was a great choice! Drove out of the Lincoln tunnel and the parking garage was right there! Self room check-in was easy, room was great (esp the bed & shower). Friendly staff. Loved the 4th floor terrace. Food was great & reasonably priced. Clean! Robot is cool! Bike rental for Central Park a nice extra! We'll stay here again!
