Nice and non expensive hotel but...

Posted Aug 29, 2015
Nice but little too far from Newark Penn Station to go to New York. 10$ for the taxi to go and 10$ for the way back each day. Nothing else to say about this nice hotel. Everything was OK.

Nice hotel - bad view, bad front desk reception

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: It was clean, the breakfast was great and it was close to the Prudential Center.
Cons: Get more customer service oriented people at the front desk, and be mindful of where you are putting guests with children!
Location: The area of town was HORRIBLE but it was close to the Prudential Center. Very run down part of the city! There was NOTHING nearby!
I was disappointed first of all at the front desk, the person sitting there looked like she could care less, hardly smiled and was not very receiving...get to the room and it is very nice, however the view was awful..warehouses are not my thing. We hardly got any sleep because the 3 rooms surrounding us were being used by a grooms party...I had children with me and I think we got all of 3 hours of sleep that night between banging doors, loud music, yelling and playing guitars...we were just exhausted the next day because of all of this. I also had to call and ask for the linens for the pull out sofa..and was told to come and get them...I was sort of expecting that they be brought up to my room...so much for that expectation. For the price I paid for one night at this hotel, I was at least expecting a good nights sleep! Not to be had on this night however. I will not be returning to this hotel EVER again and will NOT recommend it to anyone traveling to Newark!

Pros: The room was large and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast could definitely be improved.
Location: The location was near relatives we were visiting. I don't believe there are great things to do in the area.
We got pretty much what you would expect for the price. The room was clean and comfortable and conveniently located for us. Breakfast was standard. The orange juice ran out more than half an hour before the end of the breakfast time and we were told that there was no more. Overall it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Cons: Wish that you could have shuttle or courtesy service car
Location: Nothing
Hotel is close to the venue where we went to. Overall - the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

Great staff, Breakfast, Good deal

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The staff was the best and breakfast too!
Cons: Better stock of food supplies.
Location: This hotel is a little off the beaten path but still close to NJPAC, Prudential Center, etc.
The front desk staff is great! I asked for a room on the top floor and was pleasantly taken care of. Welcome gift was simple but appreciated. Breakfast is important when you're not staying in a popular area and they did a good job of keeping it stocked. Fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, etc. All good and coffee 24/7. We stayed 3 nights. I had a problem with one of the vending machines and the staff was once again helpful and gave me an extra pack of the headache medicine I so needed. It's close to the NJ Turnpike, Newark and NYC. I'd stay again.

Good alternative to staying downtown Manhattan.

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Front desk lady's were helpful about advice in how to get to downtown Manhattan.
Cons: The cleaning staff walked into our room twice without knocking. Apparently that's how they roll, because it was two separate instances.
Location: It is a short taxi ride and 20 min train ride to world trade center.
The room was recently remodeled but left some old features like the tub looks to be from the 80's. The bathroom had a musty moldy smell and didn't drain very well.
