Nice, but could use a couple of improvements

Small hotel, but the lobby was bright, airy and inviting when we walked in. Hallways were tight and dated, but the room itself was nicer than I expected with very comfortable beds, a large flat-screen tv, mini-fridge, chairs and table, desk/chair, and sink separate from toilet/shower. There were stains on the ceiling from water damage and there was an area in the carpet that was stained, and the fibers pulled out, but otherwise the room was clean and the A/C worked great. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. The lobby was small, but there was a sitting area and two large dispensers of cold water (one flavored with lime slices), which was refreshing on a hot day. The only downside is that when we went to grab a cup of coffee in the breakfast area the next morning, the pot of regular was cold and since it was 10:00, they said they couldn't put on a fresh pot. I've stayed in many hotels, from budget to luxury, and virtually all have round-the-clock coffee/tea service, including other Holiday Inns. Not sure what the issue was with this particular hotel, but at almost $200 for the night (which was way overpriced for this particular Holiday Inn), the least they could do is put on a fresh pot of coffee for their guests.
