Close House Courtyard Rooms

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Peace & quiet, however just a short walk to the Number 19 bar & restaurant.
Cons: The bar & restaurant are a little pricey with most main courses being in the £11- £12 range.
Lovely rooms in a beautiful peaceful location, however one that is not too far from Newcastle upon Tyne.

Beautiful golf course views

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Cons: Get new irons !
Location: Remote countryside location on a golf course.
Rooms were very large, clean and with some of the little touches that make a stay just that much better. Heated floor in the bathroom was a favourite of mine. Very peaceful and relaxing area to walk around with golf course views.

Luxury Stay

Fabulous room, enormous comfortable bed, amazing bathroom, it was a real taste of luxury. Only one slight quibble, the breakfast was extra so we didn't bother.

For golfers who want to start/finish the day early

Posted Apr 3, 2016 on Hotels
Room/suite superb, food superb, but..... Resturant/bar in the Golf Clubhouse, only people in after 8 o'clock on a Friday night! Rooms are in the old stables which has a service road adjacent, course groundsmen use it for driving their equipment from 7 am. It's on the Newcastle Airport flight path, flights depart/arrive at 6am therefore you are woken early each day and cannot get back to sleep due to the continuous noise.

Lovely away from it short break

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: Luxury, spacious and clean.
Cons: All good.
Location: It's a little out the way for towns and cities but there is plenty of beautiful scenery around for you to explore by foot, bike or car.
In our world it's a large luxury suite in a well kept golf course. The suite is big for two people and the bathroom is bigger than most hotel rooms anywhere else. The room was like new and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and more than helpful. Both the bar and restaurant are good and not overpriced. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. If there is a down side it's a little out the way to walk to anywhere else for a drink etc. but Newcastle is 7 miles away if you need a city fix. If you play gold, we don't, I guess it's perfect.
