Great location, clean hotel, lots of amenities

Posted May 5, 2017
Pros: Location, amenities
Cons: Cushions in bed were terrible
Location: 10 min walk to centre of Newcastle, ideal for shopping ,bars, restaurants
Stayed for 3 nights, right next to city centre, parking available albeit at 12 per night, lovely clean spacious room, breakfast lovely although pay for this at check in otherwise it's expensive, good gym facilities, lovely views from bar at evening

Convenient for SAGE conference centre and old city

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: Convenience and excellent breakfast. Staff are helpful
Cons: Air conditioning should be improved
Location: Convenient to SAGE conference centre. Baltic gallery nearby. Pleasant walk by the quays
Main problem was air conditioning in first room 544. It was at 23.5 C. It could not be adjusted by the buttons. Engineer said it could be reduced but it did not respond . The first night was too warm and we could not sleep The staff moved us to another room. It was cooler but again the default position was 21C and it did not respond to adjusting the buttons. Another person staying in the hotel at the conference had a similar problem but the staff corrected it. There are no opening windows in the bedrooms so functioning air condition is important

Nice hotel, would recommend.

Helpful and friendly staff, excellent location (close to St James' Park and the Metro Centre) and good amenities. Only negative is that our room wasn't as nice as it had been previously, but that's being picky, as this room was still highly suitable.

Great location for Gateshead and Newcastle

Posted Apr 11, 2017
Rowdy next door room on first night. Telephoned reception @midnight and again @5am. Staff responded well, but guests ignored request for quiet. Andrew on reception, ensured we we're moved to a superior room where we enjoyed comfort and quiet. Thankyou Andrew.

Modern well placed hotel - check the room type

Posted Feb 16, 2017 on Hotels
Modern well placed hotel, with good sized comfortable rooms. Given a disabled room and not told that this was the case by receptionist, as we were going straight out for dinner and not back until late, did not have time to make a fuss. Bathroom was poorly equipped for anybody using it, with no towel rail or shelf for toiletries, either by the sink or more importantly in the shower - so you had to put shampoo etc on the floor - not good. Breakfast good and plentiful, service friendly and efficient. As I'll probably be using this hotel a lot over the next few years, I'll check more carefully about the room type when I check in!

B&B in city centre with leisure facilities

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: Position, bright modern feel, staff
Cons: Commercial:residential bias for pool
Location: The Quayside has lots of bars and restaurants to satisfy any need plus the Sage music venue and Baltic museum right there.
Very good b&b: comfy room, great view over Tyne and bridges, warm welcome, easy check-in/out, fast valet parking, pleasant bar and eating area, good breakfast. Small pool used for swimming lessons, gym users and residents which meant relaxing swim impossible. Arrived to find towels not supplied so had to pay £1/towel. good steam room.
