One night

Posted Aug 26, 2015
We had a planned stop in Newcastle on our way North. The hotel staff checked us in quickly and told us to park in the garage right next to the hotel which is very well lit at night. They were also very friendly and helpful, giving suggestions as to where we could eat and proving a map w directions. There were a few signs that said the hotel was bring renovated but we never heard anything. The room was spacious and clean. We would definitely stay again.

Great Staff

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Front Staff
Cons: Rooms are being renovated
Hotel close to rail station. Rooms being renovated. Breakfast was good. Close to many activities. Hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. Very grateful to Lauren and Andrew who helped us with the buses. Would stay there again.

Ideal for short stay

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: The staff are all, to a man, super friendly and helpful.
Cons: More storage space could be provided, such as drawers and wardrobe space. I was surprised there wasn't a fridge in the room, car parking expensive too
Location: The location was excellent in the centre of Newcastle itself, plenty of bars, pubs, etc. nearby as well as great markets such as Grainger Market.
We were up here in Newcastle on a short stay to visit family members we hadn't seen for, like, forever. The breakfasts were very basic, but adequate, with eggs, beans, sausages, toast, croissants, and rolls on offer. There were no restaurant facilities for evening meals on site, we had to eat out in one of the nearby pubs.

Nice hotel close to the city centre

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Arrived after a horrible journey of train cancellations on the hottest day of the year. Theresa on reception was lovely, she found me a phone charger and directed me to where I could buy one when it didn't work. She also changed my key card when it wouldn't work. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was intended for a disabled guest, and unfortunately there was a lingering smell and stains on the shower curtain. Everything else was very good.

Great Little hotel for short stays

Posted May 28, 2015 on Hotels
good overall. breakfast is continental with a little bit of hot food thrown in as an after thought really, otherwise a good hotel. not far from the train station or the city centre. little bit of noise but is expeced when next to a busy road. comfy bed. everything you need for a short stay. just needs a proper breakfast. staff were great and we were checked in quickly.

Cheap price, high quality

Close to the station, centre of town and St James Park, what more do you want. You always get the same standard of quality with Holiday Inn Express, cant fault that, very dependable.

Great hotel and excellent staff

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: The staff - see above
Cons: Nothing in my view
I only stayed the one night at this hotel and have stayed in plenty of other Holiday Inn Express hotels, so I knew what to expect. However, I was very pleasantly surprised as the hotel itself was in great condition, the breakfast was really good and the staff were excellent! Honestly I have to say they were the nicest, most cheerful, friendly hotel staff I've ever met. This actually applied to everyone I spoke to - the receptionists, the maids, the manager, the waiting staff at breakfast, the bar staff - amazing - well done to the Manager!

Enjoyed our stay here the hotel is walking distance from railway station, shops, football stadium etc. Hotel was very clean and airy. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast continental style was ideal and something to suit everyone. Would stay here again and would reccomend it.
