Hotel with a view

Posted Dec 4, 2016
Pros: The friendly reception and breakfast staff. The great sea view. The beautiful Christmas decorations. Lots of private parking both outside and inside.
Cons: Improve mattresses. Use a top sheet on the bed and supply a blanket. Install air conditioning.
Location: Great sea views. Lots of restaurants. Nice beach.
On entering the hotel we were greeted with the first of several beautiful Christmas displays. The reception staff were very professional and friendly. Our superior sea view room, number 114, was spacious with seating area. There was plentry of storage. tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. the minuses was the bed was only a double and the mattress hard and uncomfortable. The room was very warm despite turning off the heating and keeping the windows open all night. If the bed had a top sheet and a blanket stored in the room this would have helped immensely. The bathroom was also spacious with seperate bath and shower. There was plenty of toiletries and the towels large and fluffy. The buffet breakfast was on till 11am and had a large variety, both hot and cold. The cold meats were extremely tasty. Tea/coffee was served to your table. The breakfast staff were very present and helpful. We didn't use the spa facilities sadly. The bar server just needs to learn how to make a proper French martini with the correct ingredients to have made my stay perfect.

Great Hotel - Hope I get the chance to stay again.

Without exception, the staff were friendly and helpful. Being a seafront hotel, it's always a bit of a disappointment not to get a sea view room, but my room was very spacious with two nice armchairs, a sofa bed, and a desk with a comfortable chair. Bathroom nice too with a separate bath and shower cubicle. Breakfast was up with the very best although there were no extra-special surprises that you sometimes get (apart from the delicious strawberries!) Pool and sauna were lovely and open to 11pm which is something deserving of real praise (I hate the hotels where they close the leisure facilities at 8 or 9) Downsides: Paid in-room Wifi. Surely this isn't justified in 2016? Heating. Radiators only just coped with a chilly November evening. I wouldn't like to be there on a really cold night. Hospitality tray only had "normal" tea and coffee. Nice to have fruit/herbal teas or hot chocolate (lucky I had my own).

The hotel was ok, but the restaurant choice of food is not so good, and the service in the restaurant is also only mediocre

A gem on the North East coast

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Location: Literally across the road from the lovely beach. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars within walking distance.
I can't speak highly enough of this lovely Hotel and its excellent staff. We have just come back from a two nights stay in one of the very spacious superior double rooms with a magnificent sea view, and were very impressed by the comfort, cleanliness, warm hospitality and the value for money. The beds were really comfortable with lovely pillows. Free Wifi and free parking was the icing on the cake.

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted Oct 8, 2016
Pros: Its position in Seaburn, the comfort of our room and the cheerful helpfulness of the staff. Can't think of anything.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Apart from enjoying the beach, the promenade and the Big Wheel, we found the hotel was well placed to allow us to explore the surrounding countryside
Our room and the food in the restaurant were thoroughly enjoyed as they matched their four star rating. The staff were particularly helpful in sorting out problems regarding our airline flight home.
