Fell short on many levels

After much online research and review reading, I decided to book Hotel Viking on Sunday 2/19/17 for a one-night stay. I did not know it was Winter Fest in Newport so the crowds were higher than usual for the off season, but that shouldn't matter for a hotel such as this one. I had high expectations of this hotel, but sadly I left disappointed and will not stay again. I booked my stay through Expedia and PAID for a room with TWO queen beds. Upon check-in, I was given a room with only one queen bed (room 417). I went to the main desk to inquire, and was told there is only one room in the hotel with 2 queen beds (really?)... and that they would send a roll away up. No apology, no concession for their screw up...nothing. The rooms are so painfully small (think broom closet) that once they brought the roll away up, my guest and I had to literally climb on top of the furniture to get to the lavatory. a few more reasons why I will not return: the room was 80 degrees and the thermostat did not wok. We opened the window and much to our surprise there was NO SCREEN or any safeguard from someone falling/jumping out of the window. Is this even legal? Also, there was a previous guest's long handled makeup brush on the carpet. How could house keeping have missed this? And while the bathroom is lovely, there is no mirror over the sink due to the slope of the ceiling. So if you need the mirror, you have to turn around and move a few feet to your left.
