Lovely stay

Hotel is lovely and in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere. Room was clean, staff friendly and accommodating. Chowder at the restaurant was amazing. Only two minor issues - for the price of the stay, paying $35 dollars a day for parking and $8 dollars for water in the room is a little ridiculous. If you need water, there is a CVS in walking distance (same water for $3) and you probably can shop out parking (I saw $15 daily and overnight). But Hotel Viking management should really think about it. No one likes leaving with additional bills.

Nice Location

Location: Lots! Great restaurants. Cliff walk...
We paid extra for a "view" but room looked out onto corner of courtyard with a tree in the way. They did offer to compensate us but we were told none of their rooms really have views... Otherwise great location. Had lunch at One Bellevue outside which was nice. We always enjoy drinks on roof deck which does have a great view. Staff is nice.

Vintage Hotel right in the middle of Newport.

Pros: Location, Location, Location
Cons: It's an old place - but that was part of the charm...
Location: Plenty of restaurants, libraries, museums and the wharf...
Check in was a breeze, car attendants were very helpful, room was very spacious. Nice Place.

The Viking Hotel

We always stay in the main part of the hotel. We enjoy the atmosphere. They have modernized all the rooms and the are elegant. We enjoy being able to walk to shops etc. the staff is very friendly too.

Two days in Newport

Pros: The valet, front desk, and staff were awesome. Clean comfortable rooms. Fitness room has treadmills, elliptical, weights, and selectorized machine.
Location: Everything in Newport is a quick Uber/Lyft.
Hotel Viking was excellent. Great hotel with wonderful staff, services, location... and refreshing cucumber water in the lobby ;)

Disappointing hotel, not worth the price.

Lobby loud. Front desk confused/stressed. Hallways dark and dreary. Room small and poorly designed. Small bathroom, sink in another room. Small closet - could not use with another person in room. Bathroom fan extremely loud. Carpet was dirty - nuts and wrapper on floor and remained there for our whole stay. Housekeeping slow to clean room. Very disappointing. Definitely not worth the price. Would not return / would not recommend.

Disappointing even though staff is nice.

I picked this hotel based on the review and the location. I expected to be charming historical hotel. We stayed two nights. Our first room which was half basement (1st floor), upstairs room was making noise that we could not get much sleep. When we mentioned to the front desk, she changed our room to third floor right away. The new room was next to party room unfortunately. But the front desk took care of the issue for us again. However, the facility is tired, needs attention, not so much charming to us. We won't go back to this hotel.

Met Our Needs

Lots of added fee charges, only offers valet parking, shower valve leaked and ran water continuously, mold on shower caulk, lobby was always hot. Good restaurants and food, staff were courteous.
