Jamestown Visit

Location: Just over the Pell Bridge on the Jamestown side- Newport and all that it has to offer are an 8 minute drive over the bridge!
Great little hotel off the beaten path- but close enough to everything! One of my favorite things about the hotel was the bar/restaurant nestled right inside the hotel. That was unexpected but welcome surprise.

Pros: Everything else was fine
Cons: See compliants
The room wasn't serviced on our two night stay. When we inquired at the front desk, we were told there would be an additional charge. I traveled 50%+ for GE and never was told about extra charges for room cleaning/service. There also wasn't any information (i.e. menu) on the hotel restaurant, even on the internet. So we went elsewhere.

Pros: The location, the beautiful view, the proximity to restaurants. Close ot Newport
Cons: The air conditioner unit.
Location: Pool is very nice. Walk along shore. Walk to restautants. Is also close to Newport.
Hotel was in a good location with a beautiful view. Short walk to deli, ice cream and several restaurants. Also very close proximity to Newport. Staff is very courteous. The BUT has to do with the air conditioners. The rooms were extremely humid. When we turned the air conditioner on, it made the rooms cold but did not make the rooms dry.

Pros: points were applied Great comfort and quality at a reasonable price: $110 room cost us just $69 total, for two nights after Expedia points.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Jamestown RI: an Island across Naraganset Bay from Newport, lower pace w/ great Suppers as Simpaticos,& Island Fish. Breakfast: Slice of Heaven!
Get price and two- room suite. Wire retired into the bedroom, while I finished watching the Bost Red Sox play at Fenway.

We made a very last minute decision to take a few days. Could not get a room in Newport so we choose Jamestown. The place seemed to have a hay day once but that was a long time ago. Room has all the needed amenities but need refurbishment. Just kind of old and musty. Nice pool. Walking distance to the center. A cute sleepy town. It served the purpose. What was cool is that each room had a balcony. Breakfast was supposed to be pastry. But really just store bought muffins.

Pros: The views, the location.
Cons: The second shift front desk attendant should learn how to talk to people.
Location: Newport shopping, beaches, mansions, parks in Jamestown, ferry ride to Newport
This hotel was very nice and clean. I would surely go there again, but there is one thing I will handle differently. We arrived at 1pm, check in is at 4. The person at the front desk took our cell number and called us when the room was ready. Next time we will get there a little later. This woman was extremely nice. We went back to the hotel after the call and stood at the front desk for a good ten minutes. The woman I dealt with earlier was not at the desk, but there was another woman in a room to the side who looked at my son and I, but didn't say anything. I went to her and asked her if the person working at the desk was available and she replied, "I am in this room doing something" as if to tell me not to bother her. She came to the desk and told me I would have to wait for the computers to "change over" because the shifts change at 3pm. (this is at 3:15) I was very tired from being in the car for the last 7 hours, so whatever. My son went back to her to find out where we could get 2 additional pillows and the same woman says "In the closet?" It was said in the form of a sarcastic question as if the kid is stupid. The tone her question was posed to him should have had a "duh" on the end of it. I'm sure this woman is a wonderful person as long as she isn't asked to do anything. Everyone else that works there was nothing but nice. Maybe a customer service refresher class is in order.

Clean, Beautiful view of Narragansett Bay

Pros: The fact that the hotel is so old (built in the 1890s) added to its charm.
Cons: some of the doors within the room did not close properly. halls had a bit of a musty smell - but not offensive.
Location: Loved the location. Close to downtown and other restaurants. The view is beautiful.
We found it to be very clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. After traveling nearly 16 hours to get there, we were exhausted. So we really appreciated that they allowed us to check in at 11 a.m. when the normal check in time is 4pm. The restaurant has excellent food. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Perfect location!

Pros: I loved that the rooms had a little kitchenette, a living room and a separate bedroom. The decor was very tasteful and the room was nice and bright.
Location: I thought this was a great location. It was within walking distance of the little shops, restaurants and to the ferry that takes you over to Newport.
We spent two nights at this hotel. It was so clean and the rooms were beautiful. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a great time here. In my opinion the menu for the restaurant was a bit steep but the food looked well worth it. The continental breakfast consisted of a few pieces of pastry, oatmeal and a few little muffins along with tea and coffee which was just enough to take the edge off while waiting to go out for lunch. We spent time walking around Jamestown. This is such a quaint little town and the people are so friendly and welcoming. We took a ferry over to Newport which was only about a 25 minute ride. It was nice to have the pool right at the hotel too. All in all, we will definitely go back and stay here again.
