Nice hotel centrally located

We enjoyed our stay at the Candlewood Suites tremendously. The surrounding area was safe and quiet. There was a golf course across the street with a running path around it. The path was perfect for talking our dog out for a run. Our room and the the staff were quite accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Everything you need in one room.

Pros: Very comfortable bed. Nice sheets and towels. Very efficient room layout (kitchen, desk, recliner. etc.
Cons: I had no complaints. No pool which does not bother me. I have nothing else to say.

I reserved a Queen bdrm Suite and they put me in a studio. when I requested to get what I originally asked for they said I have to pay $52 extra. I checked in late so I requested to extend my check out time to 3pm the day I checked in. on the day of check out front desk called me to tell me I have to check out at 12nn so I have to rush back to hotel pack my stuff or else she said they will charge me another night. That is not how you treat long time guests. I have been checking in this hotel everytime I visit Hampton. This is the worst trip I had.

Pet friendly and convenient

It's a pet-friendly, extended stay motel. What this means for me (business traveller without pet) is that the room has a kitchen and a full-sized refrigerator and a stove, which was really convenient, but the room smelled like dog and only gets cleaned once a week. I was there for 6 days, so it wasn't cleaned while I was there. By the end of my stay, I felt like I was in my college dorm room...the garbage cans are too small for really doing much cooking without taking out the garbage and it wasn't clear where I would take the garbage. It's a great deal and is conveniently located, however, and if you're traveling with a pet and don't mind cooking and cleaning, this may be the place for you!

The only hotel for me in Hampton.

I have stayed here twice now. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The Candlewood Cupboard is perfect for the getting the little odds and ends that you might have forgotten at the grocery store. The kitchenette in the room has everything you could need and if its not there you can borrow it from the front desk like the waffle iron. The outside is well kept especially in the dog walk area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the are with or without a pet. The only flaw may be that I was charged for items from the cupboard that were not mine. It is on your honor system and we paid cash for all items but a slip was put in the box with our room number on it. Therefore my room was charged. Other than that the place was great!

Very quiet and comfortable.

Pros: The quiet setting and the professional staff.
Cons: The room had a strange smell. It could have been fresher
Location: There was a very nice seafood restaurant which was recommended by the staff "Harpoon Larry's" . It was a wonderful dining experience
It was not the luxury I was accustom to but it was very clean and comfortable. It was a very unique experience. It has a mini convenient store and you can purchase items on the honor system to cook in your suite. I highly recommend for people who like to prepare their own food.

Can't beat it

Pros: Kitchenette, location, price, laundry, "lending lockers," updated room.
Cons: Channels (could use a regular Nickelodeon or Disney), housekeeping, bench out by the water.
Location: Such a good location... Minutes away from Coliseum Dr/Peninsula Grove, which has tooons of shopping and restaurants. About 20 mins from Busch Gardens.
For the price and what you get, you can't go wrong. We used the kitchenette fairly often, and although we brought some of our own utensils and such, they give you plenty to work with on your own. I was surprised to even see a strainer and a toaster in the cupboard! First few days there it was *perfect*... about 5 days into our stay I think it got busier, as we heard some more noise. We could hear our neighbors a bit when in the bathroom. Heard other guests more than we ever heard a dog, so the pets thing was A-okay with us. Free laundry on the first floor is nice, especially for extended stays. Room seemed updated. Very large desk for you to use. Ice maker in the freezer of the fridge. We didn't like the location of the first room we were assigned to, and it was nice of the lady at the front desk to offer us a new room. Gazebo felt a little lackluster to me.... It just sits next to the building. We had a view of the pond/lake, which was very nice. One of the few cons: There was a spot on our comforter, which we had facing the foot of the bed.... When housekeeping came through I expected a new comforter along with sheets.... But when we came back, it was the same comforter.
