Great location, large room, super friendly staff

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: Great location, price, room size, and friendly staff.
Cons: Minor things broken throughout the room/hotel. More attention to detail on those things.
Location: Shopping plazas galore including restaurants, lasertag/bumper cars, bowling, airport, VA living museum, not far from VA beach.
The location is very convenient to so many things! Next to the airport (but we never heard planes!), shares a parking lot with Olive Garden & Red Lobster. Plaza across the street has every kind of store & restaurant you could want including a wine store, Panera, frozen yogurt, etc. etc. So many shopping plazas in the area! Peninsula Town Center is not far and that was a really fun place to go! (so much shopping, food, concerts in courtyard certain nights, playground) My 8 year old really enjoyed the Virginia Living Museum which was very close by (cross between a zoo & a science museum). Made the drive to Virginia Beach and it's only about 45 minutes- to get there you will go through a 3-mile tunnel and over some long bridges so just FYI. The hotel was clean, staff was super friendly & helpful, our room was spacious. A few little things that made no impact on our stay- screen in our room window was broken, fridge was missing a foot so it tipped (but fridge and microwave worked fine), the house phone near the bed didn't work, housekeeping didn't always leave everything we needed (4 people in the room and they left 2 towels, no extra tp) but no problem getting from the front desk. Breakfast was very extensive and all tasted great, ends at 9:30am which is a tad early but it was fine. The indoor pool was nice, kids enjoyed it. I would stay here again if visiting the area!

Family visit to CNU

Posted Apr 17, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel staff was extremely efficient and helpful during our stay. The fitness center could have been better equipped and I would have liked a little better quality with the breakfast, but the amenities (including a great pool, nice room, and clean facilities) and super-friendly staff made it a great stay. We would definitely stay there again!

NO COFFEE IN BREAKFAST ROOM

Posted Apr 6, 2017
Pros: First impression: a quality operation.
Cons: As above.
Location: Not too far from Starbucks if coffee machine is out of order. Comments are intended to be addressed by management, not prospective guests.
Day 1: Coffee machine in breakfast room broken; not repaired or replaced until next day. Had to go to Starbucks in nearby shopping center and return for breakfast. The breakfast room attendant was extremely gracious, but all she could do was to offer the same coffee packets as were in our room, and a thermos of hot water. Day 2: No running water in room (sink, shower etc.) until late A.M. No Kleenex. Day 3: Returned to "cleaned" room to find the toilet clogged up. How could housekeeping have overlooked that? Don't they flush the toilet as part of their duties? Despite call to desk, still no Kleenex.
