I have stayed at one in Waynesboro , NC and this motel can’t compare ! I was surprised to find out there was no ice bucket, coffee pot with amenities for coffee, no cold cups , the TV channels were very difficult to read on the tv in the room due to the color of lettering used to display the channels and the desk clerk was difficult to understand their speech or words. You get what you pay for Minimal amenities .

This is definitely a no-frills place, but it was very clean, well maintained, and the desk staff was very kind - even calling to confirm the reservation before arriving and calling the room withing the hour to make sure everything was ok. Again, no-frills - hot coffee and some muffins or granola bars in the morning. Furniture is certainly older, might find a light burned out, but again, clean, maintained and quiet.

NEW OVER HAUL
My stay was very disappointing. The room was not fresh in smell. There was a stale smell with a slight marijuana smell radiating throughout the room. The microwave had not been cleaned out and it had burnt food inside, needed to be replaced. The dresser furniture was old and paint finishing was chipped off and water pressure in shower extremely low. Also there were baby roaches crawling through out the room periodically in the kitchen area and once in between the two beds. Having stayed at other Extended Stay properties, this was really shocking to me the untidiness of this particular property.

The staff was professional and very accommodating. The hotel needs major upgrades. Very dated. The water pressure was horrible. I had to move rooms when I first checked in, however the staff was very helpful. There needs to be a lot of remodeling done.

Family friendly hotel that saved my life 5 star!!
Well my family and I have been here for almost a year for temporary housing things was tough trying to pay weekly till couple promotions that came my way. The GM ms. B has helped us out a lot with late payment when I have to work late. Most of the staff is helpful at times. Things had changed for the best during our stay like new windows was installed in all the rooms and carpet is being replaced in rooms currently. New air conditioning is being installed weekly that I always see when coming in from the front. They have installed alarm systems on all exit doors to insure safety for my family and all guy in the hotel. I would say that things here are getting better. I know so of the guest here personally a they would agree that this is the best hotel to go to with a full operational kitchen. The only thing that keep s happening is out of order on the washing machines but they are being fixed fast so that families like myself can wash with ease. I would say to download the app so they you can wash easily instead of swiping your card each time. So overall I would give this hotel a 5 star!!!

Cheap & not worth it
The check in was fine. The front desk clerk was pleasant. When I got in the room, it was dingy. It did not feel clean. The tub was cracked on the bottom, so I couldn’t take a bath. The tub was horrible. The worst part is at 8 am I heard an electric saw and banging from a hammer. It sounded like it was next to my head. I called the front desk, I asked them could they ask the people to stop banging. The desk clerk told me “no” bc the work was schedule. She did apologize but where was the solution? She could’ve moved me to another room. But if it’s scheduled why assign someone a room right next door?! You get what you pay for. I should’ve spent another hundred and went somewhere much nicer.

The location of the property was perfect as I was visiting for Hampton graduation. My family lives near by. I originally found a different hotel but the price spiked so I chose this one instead. When I arrived there was no one in the lobby so I had to call on the phone to get service. That wasn’t a huge inconvenience plus the staff was nice so it was fine. The quality of the rooms were the issue. They are extremely dated and the cleaning was not up to par. The microwave was rusted as was the frig. The bathroom had hair from previous guests on the walls and inside the tub. The ironing board sounded like scratching of a chalk board when trying to open it. We only used the room to shower and sleep as we were out with family most of the day but there was no real comfort in the room if we chose to just relax in there. The trash room was disgusting and the smell was a different story. The grab and go breakfast was ok and thoughtful but I will say the muffins were dry. Honestly I’d never stay there again. If the sole purpose is to get a few hours of sleep or just shower then this is the place. Otherwise, no thank you.

The staff here were friendly and helpful. Check in and out were easy. The location is walkable to the Hampton Roads convention center, lots of parking. The room was clean and neat. In room amenities were minimal: had a kitchenette with stovetop, microwave and full fridge, but there were no utensils, mugs or cooking items on check in. These can be requested on an as needed basis. No in room coffee maker but free coffee in the lobby in the am.Towels smelled good. There was a nice comfortable recliner in the room. The TV had a problem with the screen, I'm sure they would have replaced it if I had bothered. Decent water pressure and bathroom well maintained. There did not appear to be any fitness room and no pool as far as I could tell. Convenient affordable night's sleep for my short stay of 2 nights. Surrounding area seemed safe. Larger shopping and restaurant area a short drive away (could be walkable if you're ambitious). Waffle House within easy walking distance.

When I checked in the rooms that I had reserved were not the rooms that we received, and this was just the start of a horrible experience at Extended Stay America Suites in Hampton, VA. My room had a work order on the sink that stated that the toilet needed repaired, because it did not flush. Found that it did flush for a 1 but not a 2. When i addressed the problem at the front desk i was offered a plunger. by the clerk as well as the General MGR who was on the phone. I Stated that I was on my way to work and reminded them that there was an open work order for the toilet repair., and I was not going to fix their problem. I return from work and the issue hadn't been fixed. Things went from bad to worse when I talked to the evening clerk. She called the GM and then told me that she did not like my attitude, and I could get the f#Ck out. Not only was i cussed out screamed at I was threatened for physical harm. The clerk came from behind the front desk and approached me at the elevator screaming threats and cussing. I packed and called the police. I travel 8 days out of every month, and i have NEVER been so disrespected by anyone like this at a hotel. This obviously comes from the top down starting at least with the GM. Totally unacceptable behavior. I did overlook the musk in the room and the worn furniture because sometimes those things are unavoidable. I ask that the owners play the video from that night and see for themselves the attack on me.
