Don't stay here:

Posted May 18, 2017
Pros: Some of the staff were nice.
This hotel was rated 3.3 stars and I would seriously give it 1. We booked 3 rooms and all were in disrepair, wallpaper peeling off the wall, towel racks broken and sinks cracked. All rooms were listed as non-smoking but one definitely had been smoked in recently.

Smelly Room Not Appreciated

Posted May 14, 2017
Pros: The location is good for Christopher Newport University.
Cons: Sadly, it looks like this hotel is in a serious decline.
We had requested a non-smoking room a few months earlier. When we checked in and arrived at our room, we discovered we were put in a smoking room, which was quite obvious when we walked in. The room stank of cigarettes. We called the front desk in an attempt to get another room and they said they were filled up and could do nothing. Not even an apology for giving us a room we had not reserved. In addition, the bathroom was not real clean, the shower curtain rod was about to fall out because it was pulling out of the wall, the tv reception was horrible and the room stank! Awful experience with an uncaring staff. I would not recommend this hotel.

Smokers Den

Posted May 13, 2017
worst hotel I ever stayed in. Stains on the bed, room smelled like an ashtray. Mold on the caulk joints in bathroom. Holes in the door where they changed the locks with a small piece of tape covering it. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Oh wait the bed VERY OLD not comfortable at all. And also smelled like an ashtray. Management in this hotel should be ashamed that they allow this hotel to be this bad. Almost like sleeping in a halfway house.

Should have read the reviews... thought I was getting a good deal as I needed a suite for 5 people. The remarks about cleanliness are no joke. I checked out about 2 minutes after entering the room. Would sleep in my car before sleeping here. Dirty, smelly, filthy, food from previous tenant still in room. Stains on the sheets and furniture. $70 down the drain... yuck.

Worn and nasty

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Pros: Close to CNU and 64
Landscaping-dead; parking lot and sidewalk areas-trash. It is obvious this place is not being taken care of. Rooms are worn and smelly. Walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbors next door at 10:30 "partying" and finally asked the front desk to call them-they did. Smoke alarm went off in my room just because I took a hot shower and the whole room steamed up because there is no exhaust. The staff (front desk, kitchen staff etc.) does not wear any name badges so you never know who you are talking to. I will not return to this place.

Close to the interstate so you can go elsewhere

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Nice thing it's close to the interstate so you can go find another hotel. The lobby is very nice but deceiving. The rooms are out dated. The toilet would not flush, an employee came in to checked it told is to remove the tank lid and pull the chain; they never did fix it. There was no toilet paper in the room, that gives you an idea about the cleaning staff if there actually are any. Found the pool which was the selling point in there listing here on Expedia. The POOL WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. Has been down for 2 months they have the part but apparently not willing to pay to get it fixed. The room was booked for 4 adults and a child trying to get towels for everyone was difficult. When the front desk was called the person was very rude, the way they stated they where the only one at the desk. First night also had to ask for linen for the pull out sofa and to bring the cot (which the person at checking said may or may not be in the room). DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

U dont get what u pay for

When we first arrived the room that they gave us the toilet was not peoperly working . it looked as if they just got the room together at the last minute as far as the TVs in the room .we had to look through about 3 different rooms we made a decision on one of the rooms which wasnt any better than the first after carrying our bags from room to room. That room was alot smaller than what we paid for no sheets were available for the pull out mattress the pool was out of service which they failed to mention before we arrived that was the main reason we got the room for my fiances birthday . the room also smelled like covered up cigarette smoke, i ask for a remote they said its 1 in there which it wasnt so we had to watch channel 10 the whole nightfor his birthday because it wasnt any hd tvs

Pool broken, toilets ran, tv staticky, mold on vents floors and bathroom. People yelling and cursing in the halls, smell of marijuana in the halls. Beds had 2 sheets and half of a wool blanket. Other than the person that checked us in the staff was rude
