very nice location. close to everything we wanted

Posted Aug 17, 2017
the young woman who was working the afternoons shift at the front desk was super friendly and pleasant. there isnt an elevator but only 3 floors so not terrible. just something to plan for. this isnt the most modern or exciting hotel i've ever stayed in, everything was clearly older. all in all though it was pleasant and worth the price.

Hotel review

Cons: Lot to improve. Special the smoke smell on third floor. AC need to be replaced.
Location: Location was very good.
Biggest issue was getting smoking room with Kids. AC was very old and not working properly. Staff was cooperative but cannot get the non smoking room.

The room was ok, but smelled bad. Was offered a non smoking room on a smoking floor. Staff was very nice and accommodating, however.

Ok

Hotel was nice, nothing to brag about. Front desk personnel was not very friendly or hospitable. Tried to give me a room that I did not pay for, which had cigarette burn in the bed covering. Had to show paperwork to confirm room I asked /paid for. The second room had the Fixture hanging off wardrobe, couch was stained and the couch cushion cover was missing & covered with a bed sheet, which looked very tacky. The third room I went to had this unpleasant odor. And the lighting was not very good.

Convenient location

Although the the accommodations are adequate and the staff was friendly. The ventilation system in the room required repair. The beds were uncomfortable and there cigarette burns in the sheets. It appears that the establishment shares parking with another established.

Moldly

The hotel smelled of mold and mildew. The 1st first smell was awful. It had no elevators for the multiple floors or carts to move the luggage with.

Terrible

Location: There is a gas station across the street and enterprise. Patrick Henry Mall and other shopping centers are 10 mins driving nothing in walking distance
I booked this hotel as a last minute trip for Hampton Univarsity homecoming. Upon my arrival the hotel is right off the highway. The outside is dirty looks run down. The parking lot is small there is only one handicap parking space. The attendant who checked me in was nice. My room was on the first level a single with two beds non-smoking. There was a foul odor seaping from the a/c unit, a dead small roach in my bathtub, and the carpet was wet from the shampoo. I had to use towels and the comforter to walk across the room. The light switch near the night stand worked on/off. There was mildew around the dresser from the wet carpet. I didn't eat their free breakfast based from the outcome of the room. The rooms are outdated and tacky. The bathroom same. I would not stay here. Honestly I think the hotel should be inspected and closed for renovations. I would not recommend anybody to stay here. The service people were nice but the hotel itself is horrible. Manager needs to do a better job with the up keep.
