Almost gave 5 stars

Posted Aug 30, 2017
Pros: Internet
Cons: Staff training as worker in question seemed to be new but kindness should a customer interaction should be a prerequisite for this type of job.
Location: Newton, NJ. Not sure as the tournament the organization played in was in Hamburg. Only stayed overnight.
If I could give 4 1/2, I would. The hotel was immaculate and quiet. The hotel had breakfast ready extra early as there was a group of us playing in a golf tournament and had to leave super early. Breakfast fresh and good. Rooms nice and bad supe comfy. The 1/2 star is for my initial experience from the young, female front desk worker. I arrive about 2:15. Checkin is 3 pm. I was hoping that my room, which is often the case in hotels would be remade. My room was pre paid. The women was abrupt and told me my room was not ready and to try back in "at least" an hour. Sounded like that could be after 3 pm. There was a lounge, coffee and dining area. She could have invite me to relax and have coffee and wait. She left me to feel unwelcome. Interestingly and very upsetting was the fact that two couples walked in with there items and was treated with an entirely different attitude and given their keys immediately. I went across the road to kill time at Kohls. I returned about 30 minutes later to see another couple get their keys. This time a women, who looked like a manager along with the same worker. I asked why was I denied a room and two couples were immediately given a room. The manager was very accommodating and I was immediately given a room. I would return to this hotel but staff need to be trained better and customers equitably. I drove 2 hours from Manhattan and didn't expect that intro. BTW!, your custodial staff was terrific.

Close to Nursing Home

Pros: size of rooms
Cons: nothing
Location: great area
My sister and I will be making trips to Newton on a fairly regular basis to take care of the needs of our mother. This hotel is awesome and very friendly. That makes a difference to hear - Hi, hi - have a nice day" or "hope you have a nice evening." It all makes a difference and was appreciated.

Hotel recently updated. I would prefer more healthy choices at breakfast but food was good. Staff very attentive.

Mgmt didn't do enough about the noise.

Posted Apr 3, 2017 on Hotels
Some of the other people (pre-teen girls and moms) on the 2nd floor were VERY NOISY from about 10:30 pm until after midnight. After they were asked to please be quiet they continue banging the doors, laughing, running up and down the hall. I called down to the front desk to complain and 30 minutes later had to call again. I think management should have been much stronger in their request to these moms to be quiet. In the morning there were 2 Dunkin Donuts gift cards left under our door with an apology from the management for the noise. Nice but did not make up for the noise situation at that hour of the night. Not sure I'll ever stay there again.
