Crystal clear sea. Beautiful lush foliage. We were here many years ago and the bungalows have not changed in all that time. They are in need of a little sprucing up but are fine considering the price. The resort area is smaller now as they have mud baths and beach for just the day visitors, but it is still quiet. Buffet breakfast was surprisingly good, and the only restaurant had good choices for evening meal. With resort credit and free transport to the island the price is really a bargain and a stay here should not be missed.

Scenery is spectacular. And the service staff from the check in point to housekeeping to bellman is topnotch. Amenities in the room are outdated and need upgraded. Minibar closet is falling apart. Minh the bellman is the best!

The pool was lovely and the beach was beautiful and clean. There was only one place where we could get food that was half decent and open. There was another at the other end of the island but it was mainly a seafood buffet that was not very nice. We only ate the rice. There is not where to get snacks or anything else, it's all in-house purchases. The activities that were available were not great value and setup for quick turn over tourists. We went parasailing for about 5mins only. The staff were very nice and tried very hard to assist us and they can not be faulted. Their English was limited and our Vietnamese was non-existent. I can eat seafood and my daughter is lactose intolerant. This gave us very limited options. Especially when they gave us a set breakfast menu instead of the buffet. We found that we booked for a different stay than we got and would not have stayed as long if we new it was half closed. A stay 1 or 2 nights max is enough.

Great option for a peaceful stay in Nha Trang area
Hotel is beautifully located and set, very quiet, peaceful surrounding, having a private bungalow with sea view on a paradise island is all one can wish for. Each bungalow has own terrace with place to sit and relax looking at the tropical garden and the sea. The private beach and adjacent garden have plenty of chairs and sun beds, hammocks etc to relax in the shade. The hotel Pool is very large and nice, with some areas in the shade. breakfast is quite reach with both Asian and western options. Lunch and dinner were a la carte, card is short so a longer stay can make you little bored, but the food is really tasty. Staff is very nice. Free boat shuttle to the city is efficient and useful if you want to explore a little in the evenings, and the addition of the last one at 11pm gives plenty of time for evening activities. The only minus - the island is also a destination of day trips and some of the four groups are loud and wander around pool area, taking space from hotel guests. This is the only thing I would really recommend the hotel to change. Otherwise - reasonably priced getaway win a beautiful tropical garden setting is a great choice!

Amazing resort —stained by stream of sea trash
Gorgeous resort, but the sea water is absolutely littered with trash—mostly plastic washing ashore from the mainland—24/7. I actually spent most of my time trying to clear the water from these plastic pests instead of swimming. To hotel manage,ent: Please, if you wish to maintain a five-star rating, you absolutely must deal with this issue. I’d suggest hiring cleaning staff at the beach. It’s not rocket science. Other than that, we loved every second of our stay, and it has maintained itself as the highlight of our trip to Nha Trang

It was an amazing stay. It's been a month since I came back, but Mer Perle is one of the best resorts I've been to. However, there are a lot of Chinese tourists on the other side of the island, and some of them even come over to the day-tourist restricted area. One rude chinese man tried to take a picture of the people resting on the beach, so I went to the concierge to raise an issue. The concierge was very cooperative and solved this issue right away.

The resort is fabulous and I look forward to returning. It was great that the resort was isolated from the crowds of the other side of the beach and the queen suite had a wonderful view. The service of the local staff was outstanding and made our stay very comfortable. We felt like we were staying in a 10 star resort and I hope it doesnt change. Well done Merl Perle and thank you.

we left after 2 days of 4. weve been refunded 1 day. We were told we would only get a full refund if we gave it a 10 rating. This would be totally unfair on other travellers. This hotel is a building site.pilon drivers from 6.30 in the morning outside of the apartments / villa's until night time. Your trapped on the island. no shops, or anywhere to go for a walk. restaurant was appalling. breakfast is last nights food. staff have no idea on hygene and cross contamination. Our bathroom had no water and the urinal was blocked. the toilet plunger is put on the floor after unblocking the toilet. the phone for calling for service didnt work, so we had to walk down to reception from the far end of the resort, after travelling for 12 hours. we were told it was fixed, and when we got back after dinner (was more like a cafeteria - manageress was arguing for over 20 mins with customers at full volume.)...it wasnt! We made a two sided list of everything that was wrong with this place. The golf course was a building site- out of order , outside the reception...building site. tennis courts - building site, out of order. Gym...its outside (the same you get along the beach in nhatrang), and has rusted. you have to book your boat to the mainland at least 1hr before departure. Staff cant speak english. Food in restaurant sent back for being cold twice. You would not eat here if you had a choice. No live music or entertainment as stated in brochure (supposed to be everynight). There is more.

Some disappointing details.
On our last day, we went for our usual morning swim. I found a bottle floating in the water and I walked it to the beach to put it in the trash, just like I had every other day. On my way back to the water I looked around and realized my fiancee and I had been floating in a mountain of trash and slime. It was disgusting. We left immediately. While much of that is due to polluters on the bay, I expect more from hotel staff to help keep their resort clean. We saw some workers with brooms sweeping seaweed off the beach, which really is pointless. They need people actually in the water every morning retrieving floating debris. This situation obviously went above and beyond providing beach towels (which they don't). Also side notes, this place is really for younger couples as there is a lot of walking involved at the resort and the rooms are more for show than comfort. You also need quite a bit of patience to work your itinerary around the boat schedules. Reception staff weren't efficient, resulting in waits upon arrival and departure.

Private Paradise
We stayed for only 2 nights and I wish we stayed a little bit longer. We got a private car from the airport (45mins) to their sea port. We waited for around 15mins for the shuttle boat to the island that is a 15-20min boat ride. Once you get there you may never want to leave, it's amazing. The staff was lovely and there was no language barriers to speak of. We spent our days lounging on the sunbeds at the beach. Clear skies and water it was magnificent. We only ate at the Seabreeze restaurant, the food was very tasty, the resort could benefit from more options. After a certain time only room service for food is allowed as the restaurants close. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom had both a bath and shower, and is open planned (as in you can see outside) you are very much connected with nature. If you are coming to relax, meditate or finish that book you were suppose to read a long time ago this is the resort for you. Complete tranquillity and calm.

The place and outlook was just so beautiful. Boats going back to the mainland every hour and returning. The beaches and pool area's were lovely. A very special paradise experience.

To get to the resort, we need to take 15mins boat ride because the resort is on an island. They have beautiful beaches and pools. The pool is amazing, water always just right. The beach is clean on the resort side but the playground side which open to the public is dirty. Same goes to the pool. The pool on the resort is beautiful, the water clear but other side is not. I went here with my cousins, we spent hours in the resort pool, but we hadn't step one step in the other pool.. The playground is pretty fun if you go with friends. Challenge yourself. The staff is friendly (because we know a little bit Vietnamese, many comments said that there is language barrier, this I do not know for sure). The resort is on the island and on the island have only the resort so you really can't go anywhere else without the boat ride to the mainland. But the resort is very beautiful (some part still under construction). At the time we went, there not alot of tourists in the resort. So it is very nice experience.

All pros and cons has ben well described in previous reviews, but all I can add, is that this place could be a paradise, if.... there would be a will to add some value to marvelous natural surroundings and pristine beach. But at the moment it is rapidly deteriorating resort, where rats are openly wandering around restaurant during dinner and where I met most unhappy staff in beach resort worldwide - had a feeling that they are forced to work here. Definitely worst place in our 3 weeks tour in Vietnam, extremely overpriced and unfriendly.

Great beach!
The hotel is a bit rundown but in a great location. Wonderful spot for families. The entertainment area was brilliant - good fun! The food was average but expensive and nowhere to buy grocery items. You had to buy everything at the hotel which was expensive especially with a 15 percent tax added on. Still, I had a great time. the views from our villa were magnificent.

The rooms and beach are very nice and we enjoyed it but the restaurant and service of the staff (mainly due to the language barrier) are average. Could do with a bit more going on ie a bar etc on the island but overall it is a nice place

Not a Family Resort.....
Unfortunately we booked this hotel for 2 Adults and 3 children. The room is only equipped for 2 Adults and 1 child, they knew we had the 3 kids and we had to pay and extra $60 per child for the week we stayed, they weren't happy to help you out even though we had previously settled the account. Not great communication, nice resort lovely beach and pool. Restaurant on island not great expensive so you really have to go to the mainland everyday for dinner. Buffet breakfast was lovely..... not a family resort more a couples resort not much there, lovely views, very quiet. If you want a beach to yourself and a very relaxing time away then this is the place. Cleaners were lovely but no one else really bothers with you. We were pretty disappointed with this experience.
