Great Hotel

Great hotel and location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Right across the street is a Tim's and a great little restaurant called "The Little Red Roaster'. They had a great breakfast menu at a very good value. The only note I would make is this hotel doesn't have elevator so you will have to carry your luggage up to second floor. I would stay here again.

Friendly hotel with great rooms

Great place for kids. Get a room with a couch and there is lots of room. Quiet and close to everything. Breakfast was good but could have been more varied. We would be happy to stay here again. Great value!!

great getaway

Pros: Charming, caring and considerate host and hostess. Very quiet. Good location.
Cons: Perhaps a small safety bar to assist in getting in and out of tub. Better reading lights by beds.
Location: In mid winter not much available in sightseeing,, but we didn't expect there would be. Not to far from Niagara Falls and the Casino.
A short mid winter getaway for R & R. Pleasant, quiet surroundings.

Nice hôtel

We spend 2 nights in family. The personal is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. good breakfast except we missed cooked eggs.

Nice hotel conveniently located.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed and bedding were very comfortable.
Cons: The heating unit could have been quieter.
Location: Great shopping and eateries on nearby Main Street. Close to Niagara Falls.
This was a nice hotel for convenience to restaurants, shopping and site seeing.

Great hotel in a great location

Pros: Welcome cookies, comfy beds, good in house restaurant/bar, nice breakfast, short walk to NOTL centre
Location: Great cafe/bakery adjacent, good on site sports bar, short walk to beautiful NOTL town centre and the lake and 25mins scenic drive to Niagara Falls
Lovely hotel, peaceful location, comfy beds and friendly staff. Great location with great cafes and shops close by and a decent value in house bar/restaurant. Warm welcome even though we arrived very early and well before check-in time - nice homemade welcome cookies too! The price was very good value and the free breakfast was great (love the waffles!). Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in the Niagara Region!

Very nice stay, Fantastic continental breakfast

My husband & I stayed a Saturday night during the second weekend of the ice wine festival in January. This was our second time at the best western colonel butler. The first year, we got a hotel shuttle ride to the festival area for dinner. This year, no hotel shuttle service was available, so we Ubered to the festival. Had no problem getting uber in the area. When we returned to the hotel, the front desk staff recommended the newly renovated restaurant next door, Butler's Bar & Grill, where lots of locals apparently go, so we tried it out for dinner and was very happy with the food & experience. Had stone oven baked pizza & wings. Saw many people get take out and staff leaving to make quite a few delivery orders. We got the room right across from the breakfast room, which was nice and spacious. Free WiFi. The hotel continental breakfast the next morning was way better than other hotels'. Lots of options, including fresh waffles and a variety of toppings. Overall, happy with our experience and would stay there again.

Large bug in room

We walked into the hotel and we were welcomed, the service was great. We were staying in the upgraded suite. Our stay was going perfectly until we returned to our hotel room and saw a LARGE bug crawling around!! The hotel attempted to accomodate us but unfortunately, they had no other rooms available. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Sometimes these things are out of our control but I hope that the hotel can do a better job in maintaining cleanliness within their hotel rooms so another couple wanting a romantic evening don't experience what we did.
