Feedback from a fellow Hotel Professional

Posted Jun 7, 2017
Pros: Camille at Reception, Housekeeping, location.
Cons: Smile and Guest Relations Training in aggressive hospitality.
Location: Great location, nice to walk and explore the entire area. fantastic restaurants near by.
Camille at Reception was excellent, and a standout to the rest of the staff there. The others were not helpful with 2 separate yet common requests for assistance. Also, the day before departure, we tried to prearrange transportation to the airport at a specific pick up time, and was told just to call the next day 5 minutes before departing. The next day, we called 5 minutes before departing the room, and was told just to come down to the lobby. Requesting there, we were then told it would be 5 minutes. 25 minutes later, the car arrived. Food and Beverage service in lobby bar and breakfast restaurant is very weak. Work areas cluttered, no sense of warm welcome. Housekeeping is exceptional, and room and lobby decor very unique. Offerings on the television - 5 Russian stations, and 1 American Station ? Offensive. This is a 3 diamond hotel that somewhat reacts to the guest needs, pretending it is 5 diamond hotel that should be anticipating the guest needs.

Perfect spot for a mix of old and new Nice.

Posted Jun 3, 2017
Pros: Beautiful setting, extremely clean, modern style rooms and washrooms.
Cons: The bar service is absolutely abysmal. I've never seen worse bar staff in all my travels around the world. Not ever. You could die of thirst here.
Location: Head South and East to Old Nice - anywhere you go, you'll find amazing sights, sounds, and tastes.
This is the second time I've stayed at the Boscolo Exedra but the first time for my wife. She was amazed by the hotel from the minute we walked in the doors. The staff offered her a glass of complementary Champagne and she was so awestruck she couldn't answer for a few seconds because she was still looking around at the white marble interior and the skylight. Travelers should be advised though: if you're driving there with a rented car, put this address into your GPS: 12, Rue Maréchal Joffre. From that point, turn immediately left (North) on Rue Eugène Emmanuel - a narrow side street - and you will arrive right at the front of the hotel. They are doing metro construction of an underground station and have blocked Blvd Victor Hugo going in both directions East/West! The bar at the hotel has the worst service you will find anywhere in the modern world, but that's fine: you'll be walking down to Old Nice to eat and drink anyway. Just a 10 minute casual walk down Jean Médicin following the train tracks and you'll have dozens of choices vastly better than the in-house dining and drinks. I love the Boscolo DESPITE the bar service, not because of it. Otherwise, it's an incredible gem of a hotel and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Nice character hotel near the centre of everything

Posted Apr 19, 2017
Pros: Big beds, good location, open room plan with central shower, nice spa, interesting decor.
Location: Location is not too far from the sea front, right around the corner from central shopping and restaurants and just 15 minutes walk from the trains.
We had a lovely stay in this hotel and were very happy with everything. The staff were always courteous and friendly and the layout of the room we had was excellent. The hotel has a unique theme throughout which makes things interesting.

convenient location

Posted Apr 5, 2017
Pros: location, cleanness and friendly staff. chocolates placed on a bed side table was delicious!
Cons: a maintenance. since hotel was decorated as all white, frequent re-painting is needed to remove black stains on the floor and wall for betterment.
Location: Michelin star restaurant in a hotel and near this hotel. Laffayette. Monoprix. Street tram.
Downtown Nice was not too big to reach everywhere by foot if you stay at this hotel. When you stay at Nice, you might want to visit some small villages near by, Monaco and Italy. Then, this hotel is also conveniently located near (10-15mins walk) rail way station. Staff are very sincere, friendly and not snobbish at all which I liked the most. :) Hotel is very stylish and looked very clean to me.

Lovely hotel , in a very classy district

Posted Mar 30, 2017
Pros: Beautifully designed hotel , luxouriously finished all in white. Particularly liked the throne like chair in the lift.
Cons: At 80 and 77 years of age and my height being 5ft 2 ins perhaps the clothes rail in the wardrobe could have been lower. A minor point.
Location: The area is outstanding and we were impressed with the retail outlets on the southern side to the hotel towards the sea. Train station 800 yards .
The major tunnel works were only a minor irritant and did not spoil our stay at hotel. Avenue Victor Hugo and Jean Medecin are both splendid areas A

Above and beyond exceptional!

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: Everthing
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Location: Nice flower festival was amazing! The whole area around Nice is amazing. Can't wait to go back!
We stayed in Nice for 33 days and on our last week we checked into the Boscolo to celebrate our anniversary and my wife's birthday. What a treat to stay at a spa resort hotel in the centre of Nice, the staff were exceptional, the room was amazing and the spa was wonderful. To say we felt pampered is an understatement- the staff brought us chocolates at night before bed, held the door for us when we left or returned to the hotel, but most of all they went over the top when they sent my wife and I a card, macaroons and champagne for our anniversary and my wife's birthday. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the manager were pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay Thank you Boscolo for the wonderful memories.

Great location, walking distance to all areas

Posted Feb 24, 2017
Due to the essential work going on in front of the Hotel, we were asked at check in if we would like a free upgrade to a delux room at the front of the hotel, as work was from 07:00-19:30. As we planned to see as much of Nice and would not be sleeping late we agreed. The noise was minimal due to double glazing and the room was lovely.

Dear Elainsey, Thank you for sharing your comments on expedia.com. We are absolutely delighted to read your appreciation for our room and our location. We also took note of your feedback concerning the good soundproof of our windows that have a minimal impact facing the noise across the street of the costruction works. Fortunately in the next weeks the costruction will enter a new phase with less disturbances. We do hope to see you again very soon on the French Riviera! Best Regards, Silvio Catalano, General Manager
