Nice hotel in quiet location

Posted May 24, 2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing that we could think of
Location: As above.
Lovely little hotel set very near station and 12 mins walk to coast. We had a back room overlooking the garden which was very quiet. Slept really well both nights. Room very clean and comfortable, could not fault anything. Staff really friendly and helpful. A nice relaxing stay. Some very nice less expensive restaurants very close to the hotel.

The Nice Excelsior is a true find with a lovely courtyard garden, very helpful staff and in a convenient location. We had an accessible room which was decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We can highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Nice.

Excelsior great location

Posted May 16, 2017
Excelsior is an location to in and and around the cote de azur! Ideal for the station to get to Monaco or Cannes. Located two minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the centre of the town by foot. Hotel is clean and tidy, beds are very comfy. Just one draw back is there is no drawer space for clothes and toilet and bathroom are tiny. So if your on the large size. It is difficult. But overall for the price, location and sleeping comfort, an excellent stay by all!

Would only stay if on the top floor

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms
Cons: Yes fit carpets, soundproofing does not exist
Location: Three minutes from the train station and the bus stop to the airport (99) Five minutes to the top of the main shopping street and trams
Claims to be 4 Star, of course we know rating,s abroad do not match UK standard, so I would mark this as a 2.5 to 3 Star. What let this hotel down, because the staff were friendly and helpful (apart from check out and a new member of staff who was a little grumpy) the room was clean in good condition, but no carpets! What 4 star Hotel does not have Carpet. Why does this matter? well its easy for the cleaners to clean, but no good for guest comfort and relaxation, because all you hear late on a night when you are trying to sleep or early in the morning while you are trying to sleep, is the room above, the room above us 308, must have had a mixture of Morris dancers, a troop of the Lord of Dance dancers, migrating wilder beast and furniture removers in the room, as all we heard was stomping and chairs being dragged across the wooden floor all the time, dont understand why they were making so much noise day in day out, and it spolit the stay. So unless we were to be on the top floor, or they fitted carpet we would not stay again. Other guests need to respect that other people are staying and the effect they have on other peoples stay, as we find it very selfish.

Dear guest, thank you for your last stay in our hotel. We apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We always put the carpet on the room and we are sorry that you didn't have one on your room. Our staff stay always at your disposal to help you, the same for the neighbors, if you don't advise us, unfotunately we can't help you and give you the service that you are entitled to expect for a four star hotel. We are really sorry and we hope that you will give us an other chance to improve our quality of our hotel. We stay at your disposal. Best regards -

Convenient for the railway station

Posted Apr 23, 2017
Pros: Close to all amenities and transport links.
Cons: Multiple occupancy rooms need more than one leisure chair.
Location: Close to transport links. Good food and shops to suit all tastes near by. Nice beach.
Very clean rooms and helpful staff. In-house computer keyboards not configured to standard character set limiting their use when confirming onward journey. L'Occitane toiletries advertised as being provided but alternatives substituted.

Dear Jay, thank you for staying with us. We are glad to see that you enjoyed your holidays with us. We are glad as well, to read that you've been sensitive to the benevolance of our team. Concerning the toiletries, we are no longer putting L'Occitane products, that's why there is another brand. We thank you for letting us know about that, and we'll make the necessary in order to change this information. We look forward to have you back at the Nice Excelsior. Kind regards

Ideal location near to transport links

Posted Apr 21, 2017
We chose this hotel for ease of transport links along the coast. Despite being close to the station and on a road into the city centre, it was remarkably quiet and relaxed. It genuinely is only a ten minute walk to the promenade and main tourist areas. The room was a little small, especially the bathroom, but was adequate. The staff were very attentive and spoke good English. If there was one complaint, it surrounded breakfast on one day. It was clear that the weight of numbers seeking breakfast was far in excess of the ability of the kitchen to cope. My advice would be to go elsewhere for breakfast if the dining room looks busy. When the room is quieter the breakfast is very good!

We found this to be an excellent hotel for the price, it is very well located and the rooms were generous, with good, modern decor, very good furnishings and facilities and great beds. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

Conference in Cannes

Posted Mar 22, 2017
Pros: Location for station, quirky decor well maintained and clean.
Location: Handy for station 15 minutes walk to main shopping restaurant area
Used hotel as a cheaper last minute option for trip to MIPIM conference in Cannes. Hotel very close to station in area which appears a bit mixed but had no issues. The hotel itself was very clean quirky with excellent helpful staff. only issue was that the bar only operates in the summer. NIce quiet quirky hotel ideal if you want to explore the area by train

Dear guest, we would like to thank you in a first place for choosing our hotel during your last stay in Nice. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the localisation of the hotel. We feel very sorry about the bathroom light. Concerning the bed, we actually have queen or king size bed in our rooms, so we are very surprised if you found it small. We invite you in a future trip to contact the front desk team for any issue in order to fix it, by changing your room for example. We understand that the fire alarm annoyed you, but please note that it was a situation beyond our control, and we feel very sorry about this situation. We hope that you still had a great time with us, and we hope that we could welcome you back here at the Exceslior Nice under better conditions. Kind regards, Front desk.
