Nice property and friendly staff but difficult to get a reservation for dinner. Had to eat in the town. Also several parties while there and it was noisy late into the night.

Everything about this hotel is nice and a decent place to stay in the Vence area however felt a bit oversold by the pictures / overpriced and some of the service was a little confused/slow. Pool areas are a nice place to relax, rooms are a decent size, restaurant is fine just not quite as luxurious as the pictures make out.

Loved every minute of our stay.
the hotel grounds and views were breathtaking and gorgeous, the room was beautiful and comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the amenities were superb. The pools and spa area are top notch. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, in fact we left our day sightseeing in Nice early just to get back to the hotel because it was so lovely. a car is required for this hotel, but Vence is a 15 minute walk away if you want to make the trek on foot.

This was such a lovely hotel with a beautiful SPA, amazing view from the outside heated jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much, inside heated swimming pool was also lovely and clean too, friendly and helpful staff, a close walk to the old town of Vence. Absolutely lovely hotel and beautiful quiet property. We loved our Easter holiday here so much that when after 3 days here we moved to Cannes to another 5-star hotel we were still missing Cantermerle.

The hotel is very pleasant & romantic. It is well maintained & the staff is extremely friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet is very reach. The pool & garden are very nice if the weather is right. This is actually the only negative side - in rainy days, the inside of the restaurant and the spa is less nice. I have previously stayed in other hotel in Vence and its area and this was definitely the one I would come back to!!!!

Very relaxing!
Just spent 2 nights but would like to have spent much longer! Beautiful spot so close to Vence and away from the crowds in Nice. Lovely gardens and enjoyed the pools. A little spoilt by a noisy young family, in fact it would be best not to allow children under 12 as the place is really geared for maximum relaxation. We ate breakfast which was very good with a lot of choice and we enjoyed a lunch. I would definitely stay here again if ever I wanted to visit the Nice area.

Stayed at hotel as part of a short family break to Vence. Had all the facilities needed for us to chill out and staff were really helpful and friendly. Also a good base from which to explore the surrounding area when we were able to drag ourselves away from the pool/ sunloungers!

Perfect Hotel for a complete rest
Absolutely lovel hotel in a very quiet location just outside Vence. Staff are the friendliest and most efficient I have ever met. Ideal for couples seeking a quiet few days alone. 10 minute walk into medieval Vence where there are lots of restaurants. Hotel restaurant and breakfast are also great. Kettle in the room but take your own favourite tea bags. Will definitely be going back.

Very well-run established hotel in the centre
A great hotel in the middle of Nice but with reasonable prices. Only 3 parking spaces so booking a must. Room on first floor overlooking pool and garden was great. Bedding very comfortable and good wifi.

This is a pleasant hotel with a beautiful pool area. Nice touch to provide 2 free cocktails, although would be nicer to have the choice of which cocktail you want rather than limited to house as they are all the same price. The spa is quite nice with a lap pool and steam room. Although the 'gym' is limited to 3 cardio machines. Grounds are immaculate. We made use of the boules court which was fun. Food is expensive. We did not have breakfast due to the price, and the options looked limited. Reception was often busy, and we had to wait on several occasions for staff to return or come off the phone. They could do with an extra staff member. One thing that would improve the hotel is to either make it adults only, or to restrict children's use of the spa area, as we arrived to find 2 boys repeatedly 'cannonballing' into the pool. There is limited facilities for children, so I wouldn't recommend for families.

It's a restaurant with rooms; not a hotel.
The hotel is totally focused on the restaurant, therefore getting attention from staff for a drink at poolside seating is difficult. The "Bar" they refer to is the waiters station with all the wine buckets rowed up, high chairs, pile of menus etc - stood for a least 5 mins before the 3 staff behind asked me if could help; you can't get to the bar to stand at so I just stood in middle of room whilst staff went to-fro. Rooms nice, spacious with good bathroom. Gym is very disappointing- 3 items of equipment in a small room does not make a fitness centre!

Beautiful Quiet Oasis
We had a lovely 2 day stay here. Both nights we ate at the Restaurant and the food was amazing. The rooms are great and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The pool was very family friendly.

It was a lovely stay in a great room with a wonderful terrace. Unfortunately for us, we arrived late and left early, so we weren't able to take advantage of the hotel facilities in full. However, the room provided a nice experience with happy memories. I highly recommend this hotel

Pleasant small hotel away from busy areas
Relaxing and pleasant small hotel in an relatively isolated location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel as a base to explore around the Cote D'Azur. You need a car for this hotel; it is about 13 minutes walk to the local town of Vence and public transport seems very limited in general. The hotel restaurant is pretty good and had live music one night. It seemed to be busy most nights - not just with hotel guests. For some reason breakfast was a real disappointment. It is not up to the standard you would expect for price being charged. The pools, gym etc were clean but small due to the overall size of the hotel but they were not crowded. There were plenty of sun loungers and ample towels available. Overall we had a very pleasent stay.

It was a fantastic hotel, but I wish they had been up front about the price of the buffet. £57euros each! Perhaps we should have asked? If I'm being critical, the only other issue was having a bed so close to the door. Otherwise, Helpful staff and very clean.

Beautiful oasis in a great location
This hotel was absolutely lovely. The pool and garden were beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. The hotel staff were so nice and accommodating. The city of vence is a 10 min walk and is great place to walk around and have a meal. It is also centrally located and we had a car so we were able to do a bunch of half day excursions and nothing was more than an hour away - we went to Monaco, sanremo (Italy) and Cannes. Close to the airport as well. Tips: if you are driving, make sure you have coins for the tolls. And bring/buy mosquito repellant - I got a few bites one night but it was quite humid. Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. Great value for your money.

Stayed 3 nights on a business trip. Staff could not have been more helpful nor accommodating. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The hotel is a pleasant walk into the town, located to the south close to the main road. 4 stars is about right. The room was large and well maintained with a balcony surrounded by bamboo, so quite enclosed. Pretty garden and terrace. Indoor pool and steam room well maintained.

An oasis of calm
Situated in Vence, about 20 mins from Nice, this superb hotel offers tranquility, beautiful gardens and scenery, excellent food, and is also a great location from which to explore the region. The nearby chapel designed by Henri Matisse is a must. Matisse and Chagall museums in Nice also essential viewing. The Côte D'Azur is so rich and seductive. Enjoy.

Well-chosen, well-trained staff, excellent service
The compensation for the hotel's being maybe 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Vence are its extensive grounds, well-landscaped, thoughtfully planted and maintained, with a good-size pool, kept at a temperature just warm enough to plunge in without a shock but cool enough to swim, and overlooked by the delightful shaded terrace of the restaurant. The food is good, with prices at the level of the better places in town. The rooms are simple but comfortable and spotlessly clean, and having a duplex, which came with a patio secluded behind shrubs, worked very well for us (though if you take one, make sure you firmly lock the siding doors, and test that you have, when you go out or go to bed!) It's clear the manager has been careful and shrewd in his choices of people for his staff and trained them well. They couldn't be nicer, more helpful or engaging. Altogether, a really enjoyable place.

it was our first ever stay in the south of france and after streessful weeks behind us the hotel and its facilities were just amazing. we loved the different pool areas, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, etc. would definitely go back. also a nice place to stay for different trips to various cities and places around like antibes, nice, cannes, mobte carlo, st. paul de vence, etc. its niceto come back to a calm place.

We were very happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Cantemerle in July 2015. The pool and grounds of the hotel were very nice and relaxing - the whole vibe was very laid back and not a bit snotty. We only stayed for 2 nights, and ate at the hotel's restaurant the first night which was very good. Although they did not have an English menu, the server was able to translate each item for us as needed. It was clear that everyone who worked there wanted us to enjoy our stay and was happy to help with directions and advice on restaurants, etc. A very good bang for your buck!

This was a lovely setting away from the busy world, and just close enough to Vence to be able to walk into for lunch and dinner etc. A great choice of restaurants in Vence. The staff at Cantemerle were very friendly and helpful. it wasn't too busy, and was very quiet despite being a child friendly hotel. The only disappointments were that for a 'spa' this place did not have a Sauna or a Jacuzzi. This was possibly my fault as I had been looking at many different hotels, and assumed this one would have them, calling themselves a spa! Also the breakfast was very expensive, and no other option, other than a 15 min walk up the road to Vence! You were not allowed to take your own food and drink in the room, and there were no Tea or Coffee facilities. Half a bottle of champagne was 38 euros from the mini bar!
