Nice hotel promenade Englaise

Posted Apr 22, 2017
Pros: The pool area was clean well presented and had great veiws
Cons: We shared three in one room and it was a little cramped
Location: As above
The hotel was situated near to the airport about 15 mins bus ride 6euros. It was a little way from old town around 2miles, the bus stop is right outside the hotel and cost 1.5 euros.

Lovely beach front hotel with a rooftop pool

Posted Apr 22, 2017
Pros: Sea views, rooftop pool, customer service, before and during our stay - thank you Farah! Blackout curtains! Large mugs in room for a good cup of tea!
Cons: Our bath tub had rust on the front and when sitting on the balcony it was very noisy due to traffic (minimal noise when doors closed e.g. at night)
Location: Good location, not many nice restaurants near the hotel - have to walk a good 15minutes for food other than takeaway/room service or hotel food.
The hotel has fantastic seafront views over the promenade des anglais with a rooftop pool. Customer service was fantastic before and during our stay - swift response to emails to arrange stay and minimal waits to check in and out. Room had gorgeous views (its worth paying the extra for sea view) and was a good size. Blackout curtains and comfortable beds made for a comfortable stay. Proper mugs made for a decent size cup of tea in the mornings! Comfy sun loungers around the pool, but quite busy and we visited in April 2017... I imagine in summer it would be crowded. Parking at the hotel is quite expensive but many back roads to park car in for free.

Easter trip to Nice

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Great place, upgraded to a business room, newly refurbished. Worth paying for sea view and balcony. Double bed as booked would have been nice and hotel was a very long walk from old town, bars and restaurants of Nice. Taxis expensive! Buses plentiful and cheaper along promenade but only til 9pm at night. Pool bar and view lovely. Heated pool not very warm at all!

Although by the sea it's a little far from the city centre but very good cheap bus rides to centre. It was a lovely stay. Would thoroughly recommend it. Great hotel.

Nice hotel by the beach

Posted Feb 19, 2017
Renewed recently, this hotel offers spacious bedrooms with big size and comfortable beds. The bathroom was also of a good side and clean. The lobby and breakfast areas are very pleasant and airy, with lovely attention to detail in the marine design. The staff is very kind and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel across the street from the Beach

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: We love its close proximity to the beach and convenience to the airport and roads, if managing other travel.
Cons: Nothing to improve; it is perfect.
Location: It is easy to rent a car and manage parking or take public transportation anywhere in the city. Old Town Nice is a short drive/ride.
This is our 2nd stay and we love this hotel. It is right across the street from the beach and the view is amazing. The concierge was particularly helpful in writing an issue in French for us (we are American) and it helped manage the situation much easier. Very nice hotel with very nice and helpful staff.

Don't ever stay here

Posted Nov 11, 2016 on Hotels
This was without doubt the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. We left our rental car in the valet parking care of the hotel and came back to a massive scratch that had been keyed into the door. The staff became really rude and defensive, refusing to help us in any way. We asked if they could at least take away the €29 per night we had paid for parking, they argued for about thirty minutes before finally taking away one nights worth the parking bill. Without realising we understood French, the manager said 'Just make them pay the full price and get them out of here.' We were then advised by one of the hotel staff to lie to Sixt when we returned the rental car and tell them that the scratch was already there. I stay in hotels about 60% of the year, this hotel was the most unpleasant experience - it really ruined our holiday.

Dear Guest, We thank you for having taken the time to share your experience. Your remarks regarding the incident with your car deserve our full attention and we are really disappointed to read about your observations in relation to the helpfulness and attitude of our staff. We pride ourselves on our Yes I Can! service and friendly team and we can assure you that this kind of attitude is not the norm here. We present you our sincerest apologies and your feedback will be shared with the team here to improve our service standards. We immediately interviewed our staff if any damage has been observed or occurred on the car while we have taken over the vehicle to park, but no damage was registered. As the public pedestrian walkway as well as the carpark are public areas, the hotel cannot be hold for responsible for any damage. We presume that the damage has been caused at another moment and under no circumstances by one of our hotel employees. We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have the chance to welcome you again and then meet your legitimate expectations. Eric van Dalsum General Manager

OK but too far out

Posted Nov 3, 2016
Pros: Room
Cons: Service and proximity from at own centre
Location: Too far from town centre but great bus service and convenient for airport
Room fine and clean; tea coffee selection (in room) poor; replenishment of tea / toiletries poor and stingy - we had to request 2 teabags in double room; pleasant rooftop pool area but no service although weather pleasant - we had to fetch our own drinks from ground floor bar (in swimwear); this hotel is a good 2 miles from the town centre - handy for the airport - Promenade des Anglais is a very long road! - having said this there is an excellent bus service and it is a pleasant walk along the prom.

Dear Guest, We thank you the time you have taken the time to share with us on the hotels.com website your concerns and we are happy to hear that you appreciated your recent stay at our property. Our prices are very competitive and maybe a little higher than some other venues in Nice you might have tried but where they offering the same unique sea front setting and view over the Baie des Anges? We look forward to welcoming you again soon and remains, Eric van Dalsum General Manager
