I loved the Amenities the hotel had as well as the free bar and daily free refill. The sauna and gym was good however, I would have liked to have seen a little more variety. Unfortunately my room's cleanliness was a slight let down with some of the information sheets having spill marks of sodas and some spillage stains on the carpet.

This is a really nice hotel. The room we were upgraded to had a balcony, was big, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and charming — always wishing you, ‘Good day’ or ‘Good night’. The walk to the centre takes about 15 minutes but there are lots of good restaurants and shops immediately around the place. The sea is a five minute walk. We felt looked after and relaxed. The rooftop bar has great views across the city and the rooftop pool, while small, must be blissful in the summer. The only very slight negative was the slim shower screen that made it difficult not to wet the bathroom floor. All in all a super hotel.

Big thanks to the nice crew with excellent service - front desk, valet parking, repairman, bar staff. Great location. We love the rooftop jacuzzi and bar vibes, valet parking, TV with bbc channel.

We stayed in this hotel at least 20 times in the last 15 years. It has never been like this. I do suggest the management to fix this terrible service and rooms

Our stay was lovely! The staff were extremely hospitable. At first we were placed in a old fashioned room that looked completely different to the website, but we were quickly upgraded to a deluxe modern room, after raising a query. It was within 10 minutes walking distance of the beach, food and shops. A prime location and the rooftop views and pool were a great addition as well as the spa facilities which were open till quite late. I would definitely stay again.

The checking was awful. The rooms were not available upon arrival. we got in at 3:30pm, Checking was at 4pm and room was not available until 1 hour later. The lobby areas was such chaos. The rooms itself smelled so awful. We paid for a 4 star hotel and we got 2 star quality. Will never stay here again.

Well located, helpful staff. Rooftop bar service , drinks and food were great. Pool was unusual with no shallow end, water treading skills greatly improved.

Avoid this hotel!
The hotel is very run down. The first room we were given was terrible. There was mold on the vents, the furniture and bedding were very old and the carpet was in poor condition. The hallway walls were damaged and in several places. We moved rooms (ourselves) three times before we had a room that was just barely acceptable. When I showed the front desk the photos of rooms from their website and asked why our room wasn’t the same quality, I was told the pictures were of suites. So I guess if you’re booking a suite you’ll be fine, but regular staterooms are a disaster.

Staff went above and beyond. The breakfast was expensive and did not have too many vegan or vegetarian options, but this does not change the fact that this is was a wonderful hotel experience. 10/10

I personally will not stay here again. Worst of the hotels we stayed at on our month trip through Europe. Definitely was expecting more based off the pictures and price. Pros Close to the beach, friendly staff, good area, rooftop pool/bar was amazing. Cons Looks like only the 3rd floor is renovated. The rest of the rooms are outdated, and not nearly the same quality. Our first room was very musty, and the air conditioning did not work well. Coolest it got was 30 Celsius, and that was with 2 fans. We asked to move rooms, which they allowed. Second room (different floor) wasn’t much better. Coolest it got was 26 with a fan. And the bathroom in the second room always smelled like sewage.

Friendly staff and well maintained hotel with contemporary rooms. Great transport options and location for the beach and local amenities. The air con would benefit from extra power - but that is the only downside.

We had 3 rooms at same price, all were different quality, esp the balconies. Electric shutters and awnings very useful. Breakfast was OK, but very crowded as everybody eating inside. Bar and restaurant is 1 area so can only drink inside if restaurant empty. Area is good, easy walk to sea, old town, restaurants, station etc. Rating would have been higher except for Thurs night. We were on 7th floor, bar, pool etc on 8th. There was a private function on 8th with v loud music - I rang front desk at 11.30 and was told it would stop at 12….rang again at 12.30 and was told it there was nothing he could do but leave a note for the manager! Music finally stopped just after 2. Next morning I went to desk to speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t available (coincidentally he was due back after we were due to leave)…..receptionist was totally dismissive and disinterested. Also there is no contact number for front deck in the rooms, which is odd. Finally, when we checked out we were not given an itemised bill, also odd. Overall, a decent place to stay if you want easy access to local area, comfortable and clean rooms…..but stay below 7th floor if you like to sleep before 2a.m.!

Great place to stay, nice roof top area , central to the beach , old town and railway station. Staff where great and very helpful, place is clean and surrounding area was safe. My only negative was that the hot breakfasts was terrible but the cold elements was ok.

They gave us a free room upgrade to a massive room that we really appreciated. Everything was comfortable. AC was a little bit on the weak side, had to keep blinds and shutters closed so that the apt did not over hear. Pool and hot tub were sick. Having drink service at the pool and hot tub was nice but drinks were very expensive

Not a 4 star hotel and bugs
Only 3rd floor is renovated. I was originally put on 5th floor and the room was well very outdated, not like on the photos that I looked at when booking. I asked to move to the third floor where my colleague was, as the rooms were in the standard as per photos, and they have asked me to pay extra as the room is now more premium (has a shower and a bath). My colleague has to move rooms too as his smelled of cigarettes. After all that, we woke up in the morning scratching and bitten..we found out we have bed bug in our beds. We requested the refund, they provided it to us; but they didn’t seem very worried of having bed bugs in their hotel. Which was shocking…

We had a lovely family break at the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi was fabulous. Our children absolutely loved it. Very calm place to stay and staff very helpful and pleasant.

Nice rooftop pool with comfortable seating in and around. Room was small but the large balcony made up for it to an extent. Great location in a quiet, safe area, close to Promenade des Anglais and 20 mins stroll to the old town area. We would return!

Great location. Very easy to find hotel from airport as close to tram stop. Check in quick and efficient. Reception looked a bit tired and outdated but I stayed in a premier room with balcony which was very satisfactory and comfortsble. Roof top pool excellent.

Lovely stay at Splendid Hotel
Very enjoyable stay, staff stuffy at 1st but VERY VERY helpful once ice was broken. Very close to beach, great recommendations for activites and restaurants. Parking g is high but very close. Spa small but great staff and pool, rather very cool as in COLD but location is great way cool .. place was very busy.

It’s a nice property. Close to the center. Few steps to the sea. Affordable compared to other hotels. The rooftop is amazing. Just an advise to extend the rooftop timing,11pm is still early.
