convenient, comfortable one night stay

Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: clean, convenient, character
Location: Spanish mission south hwy 19 - interesting as was Nogales. Spoke to border guards, talked to a local resident with interesting stories of migrants...
Spent one night at this cute inn in late January. There didn't seem to be anyone else spending the night there but seemed to hear someone leaving in the early hrs of the morning. Would have liked to have encountered someone as a female travelling alone. When I arrived, there was a note for me telling me my key was in the door for my room but did meet the proprietor, I believe, the next morning who was very personable. She gave helpful info regarding stops for birding and such en route to Nogales and then further east towards Bisbee. Breakfast was delivered in a basket outside the door. I couldn't work out how to use the tv remote, so instructions might be useful for people who might not have encountered a remote such as this. The room is attractive, v clean and a comfortable bed with good reading lamps next to it. Nice character and well located. It was a Sunday evening and most restaurants were either closed or closed in late afternoon. Had a very dull dinner at Saddles but the Spanish speaking staff gave me lots of info regarding Nogales. Hideous nachos at Jakes. They made me pay the full $11 for the heap of soggy, sodden mess of them even though I ate only a few on the edge.

Gem in a one horse town

Posted Nov 29, 2015
Pros: Everything
Location: Art item at your doorstep
Tubac has only one lodging in the shopping area and, though the inn is small (5 rooms) those rooms are as nice as any you would find in luxury hotels in large cities. Don't miss the chance to relax and enjoy yourself.

Cute, small and comfortable.

Nice small place to stay with a very southwestern, artsy feel. The breakfast basket is a nice touch.

Friendly, charming place.

Pros: The quiet. It is small enough for personal service.
Cons: Not really anything.
Location: Tubac is a very compact area. Lots of good shopping for Southwestern?Mexican items; lots of art galleries. We noticed a trailhead nearby.
We were greeted immediately by Ivan, one of the owners, and were made to feel at home. The inn is lovely, quiet, and charming. Our room was very nice, with everything necessary for comfort. We could have easily spent more time here, were it not for the fact that we were traveling on. There was a delicious breakfast in a basket outside our room in the AM; it was just enough, and included tasty cinnamon rolls. Ivan gave us plenty of recommendations about where to shop and dine. We even attended a wine-tasting nearby! Everything was perfect!

Do not stay here

This hotel IS NOT AT ALL what it shows on the website. It is old and run. And way over priced.

Rita, I am sorry for your disappointment, but the great majority of our guests state that we are exactly what we say we are on the web. We have not utilized any gimmicks regarding photography at all. We were built in 1987 , but each year we do some form of renovation and decor updates.

Quaint hotel close to everything

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Location: Fantastic place—basically an artisan town with great restaurants and friendly people.
Everything was great, and the continental breakfast was the best we've had in the United States. Nice people, nice setting. We liked it so much that we are planning to move there.

You will feel like staying in the wild-west

Posted Jul 26, 2015 on Hotels
You feel like you are in a ghost town, a lot of stores with art exposed all the time but no people on the street nor many cars, roads are dusty old, not many places to go eat or do anything other that drink wine or tequila, people is very friendly and hospitality at the hotel is great but you are in for the unexpected since check-in, access to the rooms is very exposed, you park right on the main road and next to you there is an RV park, hot water did not work and get use to bugs, I stayed here just because they usual hotels I used were totally booked. As a positive comment, the bed was very comfortable.

Thank you for your taking the time to post your comments. Tubac is a very unique place- it has no corporate America, only locally owned stores, rural and very picturesque. It's roots date back to 1752, so yes it is old but well maintained and eclectic. We do have 10 restaurants in the 3 mile radius around Tubac and many are within walking distance from the inn. Here at the inn we do try our best to always respond to any of our guests needs and we encourage guests to came in to tell us if there is an issue in the room. As owner operators we are on property every day and try to ensure all aspects of maintenance.

Wonderful B&B in the heart of Tubac. Great place!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
Location: Centa. Location to all art studios and restaurants.
Centrally located within walking distance of everything. Room was well decorated, clean and inviting. Glass of wine on your front porch in the comfy chairs, great basket of breakfast left by your door in the morning. Definitely will stay here again.
