Was Closed for the Season

Posted Dec 22, 2015 on Orbitz
I can't really review this facility as it was closed for the season. I shouldn't have even been able to book our stay. I didn't know they were closed until I arrived at their door. When I was finally able to get in touch with someone, they claimed they had just found out I had booked the room the day prior, that they had no contact info for me, and that it was an expired card that I used to book with. Of course, that's all nonsense. I do have to give her props for finding us a room up the road at the Locust Tree B&B. Heidi at the Locust Tree was awesome, and I can certainly recommend her B&B. I know we'll be back. As for the Blackberry River Inn, who knows.

Run down place.

Posted Oct 22, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was very nice and served on a sunny porch with beautiful views of the fall foliage.
Location: We chose this Inn over a hotel chain that was nearer our weekend events. We paid for 2 nights but left after 1 because the place was so run down.
Old, uncomfortable bed, broken TVs (room and common areas) despite DVDs and VHS movies available.

a step back in history

A truly impressive house in which yoare immediatelyy transported back in time. The beautifully panelled library walls, the antique furniture, the crystal chandellier and elegant staircase all give thi inn a charm and character that only comes with age. Mark, the custodian/manager, on the oter hand is young. His warm welcome and genuine desire to make your stay one to remember was equally as impressive as te house. They are perfetly matched. This colonial house offers comfortable tastefully decorated and furnished rooms. The magnificient hot breakfast is served and presented in style. The suites at the front of the house are adorable - a must.
