Very unfriendly staff
I should say the overall stay was not bad but the first impression was awful. I checked in on 12/31 around 6:30 pm and there were two front staff, a male and a female. I was helped by a female staff and she was the rudest staff I have ever met in any hotel in any country. She barely met my eyes nor smiled at all when she talked so I thought what an 'attitude', but that's okay. But when she deliberately ignored my small talk, I felt very embarrassed and offended. (She literally did not respond to what I said) Professionally, she did not perform well, either. She did not inform me anything about the additional parking lot so first, I had to find it myself and noticed that I didn't know the passcode since she did not mention anything, and second, I had to wait there helplessly until my husband asked her and let me know the passcode. My husband told me that he was also offended by her tone on the phone. She also failed to inform us about basic amenities like wifi and a swimming pool so my husband and I had to figure it out by ourselves. It was not a difficult job but this was the first time I was not informed about those things at the hotel. It was definitely below expectation. I get better service even in inns. We went there to have a fabulous New Year's Eve but she ruined it from the first step. I hope this will not happen again not only to me but also to any other guests. Guests deserve better than this.

Va Beach Marriott 25th St
Overall our stay was good. We had a toilet issue Friday night around 11pm. They representative was very friendly and offered to move us as no maintenance staff was available. My husband was able to fix it and saved us from a late night move. We were promised someone would come the next day. No one came until Sunday. My husband had to tinkle with it a few times in between. The man who came was friendly and helpful. I will definitely not use this as a reason not to come back! The hotel was clean and all staff that we encountered were courteous.

The only negative I can really point out is the limited parking spaces in front of the hotel…luckily, when we arrived, I was able to grab the last one available. Other than that, this was an excellent hotel and our stay was comfortable and peaceful. I only encountered one staff member (front desk clerk @ check-in on the evening of 11/11) and he was absolutely wonderful. Would highly recommend.

When we checked in they didn’t bother to tell if they had changed our room. We went to the room only to find it was a double and not a king which we had paid for on our reservation. Then I went back to the front desk to tell them of the mistake and they said they didn’t have any king rooms and the manager had changed it. The manager would be in on Monday. They said I could go down the street to their sister hotel and have to pay the difference. I will never stay at this hotel again. This is very disappointing because I have stayed here several times in the post few months.
