Big room, Nice pool, Great Kitchen

Me and my family loved the room. It was big and comfy. Everything was close from the resort. We walked to the places mostly.

Very Nice Place to Stay

Cons: Housekeeping
Location: Perfect location on Atlantic Avenue, beach, restaurants and shops all right there.
We truly enjoyed Turtle Cay Resort. Always felt safe, even in the underground parking garage. We may have misunderstood the housekeeping policy, as we stayed for 16 nights and never saw a housekeeper. Anyone wishing to book a room at this resort may want to look into that issue.

A towel exchange and trash removal should have been done on the fifth day of your stay and a full cleaning should have been completed on the eighth day of your stay. Comfortable suite, good location, mostly friendly

Location: Cross the street to the beach! Doc Taylor's for brunch (we went daily!) Topgolf! waterman's for pricey delicious seafood
We arrived as Hurricane Matthew was leaving, so we weren't sure if we would be able to get there because of the flooding. No refunds means NO refunds, so we braved it: we were able to get there with no problem, and had a great stay. Hotel staff were mostly very friendly and helpful, and the suite was nice. Our room had kind of old dirty carpet, but it appeared they are in the process of changing carpets. One of the two pools-- the one actually deep enough to swim in-- was closed for most of our stay and very cold once it was finally open, but the other pool was warm, and not crowded. The hot tubs were lovely. It is very conveniently located, parking is easy, the bed and pillows were comfy and the shower was wonderful. We did have to tell the diamond resort representatives a couple of times that we weren't going to go to the informational gathering, but they were pleasant about it. Things that did not bother me but might bother others:1) our suite was on the first floor on the corner of 7th and Pacific, and between traffic, the nightly dumpster-moving across the street, the ice machine and elevator in the hallway and the child (who sounded heavy) running up and down the hallway above, it wasn't always quiet. 2) The ceiling in our bathroom sprung a leak b/c of a hot water heater upstairs. The gentlemen on staff fixed the leak but nobody ever came to clean the mess. Housekeeping doesn't come during your stay, which I liked (plenty of towels provided, incl. beach).

You are correct, we are in the process of replacing the carpet in all of our suites…we anticipate being completed by December 2016. Unfortunately during your stay, we did experience some difficulties with the heater in one of our pools…we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Due to the location of our property, we do find that exterior noise can be disruptive. If you choose to return, feel free to request a room on a higher floor, on one of the side streets to eliminate some of that disturbance. We apologize that you had to experience a ceiling leak in your suite and are truly sorry that housekeeping wasn’t dispatched to tidy up after engineering repaired the leak. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back in the future!

Good stay

Turtle Cay, although is not directly on the beach, is a better amenity resort in Virginia Beach. The pools are very nice, and so is the hot tub, parking is convenient in the garage. I would give it a higher rating if we had gotten better sleep. Unfortunately, the bedroom faced a busy road, and we could hear traffic all night. The bed was ok but terrible quality pillows for a resort of that kind. The mattress pad was also basically a flat blanket that kept sliding off the mattress = bad night sleep. Our friends had a room with a bedroom at the entrance, and could hear hallway noise all night, too. The staff was incredibly friendly, and gave us a great free upgrade to a much larger and nicer suite.

Location is good, pools are also nice.

Pros: Location.
Cons: The carpets need to be cleaned in the rooms. After our kids were in the room less than an hour their brand new socks were filthy.
Room was not ready at 4pm for check-in. The hard-sell for the time share was flat out rude. I stated I was was not interested, but they kept pushing, just asking "Why?", "Why are you not interested?", "Just tell us why, and we'll stop asking". Ridiculous.

Mad that bc I was not an owner house keeping did not come and clean the room or make beds get new towels I was very discourage by that I do not feel you should be treated differently due to the fact I just got a room for a couple of days .... That you had to be an owner like time share stuff to get towels or a bed made!!?

Nice Hotel

The check in experience wasn't the best. We had to wait 45 minutes past check in to get into our room. We asked for an upgrade and was able to get an upgrade the next day. The main pool was heated for the kids to use and we were very close to the beach.
