Comfortable suite, good location, mostly friendly

We arrived as Hurricane Matthew was leaving, so we weren't sure if we would be able to get there because of the flooding. No refunds means NO refunds, so we braved it: we were able to get there with no problem, and had a great stay. Hotel staff were mostly very friendly and helpful, and the suite was nice. Our room had kind of old dirty carpet, but it appeared they are in the process of changing carpets. One of the two pools-- the one actually deep enough to swim in-- was closed for most of our stay and very cold once it was finally open, but the other pool was warm, and not crowded. The hot tubs were lovely. It is very conveniently located, parking is easy, the bed and pillows were comfy and the shower was wonderful. We did have to tell the diamond resort representatives a couple of times that we weren't going to go to the informational gathering, but they were pleasant about it. Things that did not bother me but might bother others:1) our suite was on the first floor on the corner of 7th and Pacific, and between traffic, the nightly dumpster-moving across the street, the ice machine and elevator in the hallway and the child (who sounded heavy) running up and down the hallway above, it wasn't always quiet. 2) The ceiling in our bathroom sprung a leak b/c of a hot water heater upstairs. The gentlemen on staff fixed the leak but nobody ever came to clean the mess. Housekeeping doesn't come during your stay, which I liked (plenty of towels provided, incl. beach).

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay at Turtle Cay. We are delighted to hear that you had a great stay and that you found the suite and staff enjoyable! You are correct, we are in the process of replacing the carpet in all of our suites…we anticipate being completed by December 2016. Unfortunately during your stay, we did experience some difficulties with the heater in one of our pools…we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Due to the location of our property, we do find that exterior noise can be disruptive. If you choose to return, feel free to request a room on a higher floor, on one of the side streets to eliminate some of that disturbance. We apologize that you had to experience a ceiling leak in your suite and are truly sorry that housekeeping wasn’t dispatched to tidy up after engineering repaired the leak.
